@Hedman77, why don't you make a team that's better for 2019-20 then? I'm just showing what is possible, literally wouldn't have been able to create the roster I created if the cap was negative. Just proving a point. Panarin and or Karlsson DO NOT have to be rentals, just take's a GM with brains and patience.
@Everyone else, Not sure why it's so "hard to believe" that Point, Panarin, and Karlsson would settle with these numbers lol, have you not seen the contracts of Johnson, Palat, and Gourde?? I think Gourde got offered too much for the 1 proven season he had, but both Johnson and Palat were steals when we resigned them to those deals... And they still are and don't tell me that there aren't NHL teams that would love to grab those 2 on their current deals... Kucherov, Stamkos, and Hedman already have their big boy superstar contracts, and the 9.5m, 8.5m, and 7.875m numbers are evidence that it's very unlikely that Point, Panarin, or Karlsson would get payed more than 8.5m... None of them are expecting to get payed as if they were signing with the Senators lmao. You'd be foolish to believe that they expect to get payed more. Karlsson would gladly take 7.875m (same as Heddy). The one legit argument would be Panarin wanting close to Kuch's 9.5m, and I don't believe he'll be greedy enough to worry about a 1-2m difference per year if it means playing on the best team in the NHL...
So no these aren't "lowballs", and I'm sorry if your favorite team would need to pay more for these players. Fortunately for me, I've witnessed the team friendly contract deals that Tampa has been able to make. Bottom line is it's a real benefit and we've already been taking advantage of it.
