Point is amazing...but he’s only worth 4 1st rounders to a team in a championship window who is only Brayden Point away from a Cup. Is the Buffalo?

Problem is, most Cup contenders don’t have 10M to throw around and 3 1sts this year to stock the system where they can go 4 years without a 1st. Point would make that difference and make Buffalo a great team.

This would be unreal if it happened for all parties involved....but even if buffalo coughed up 4 first round picks, would skinner really take a deal for 8.5 per year while Eichel and point make 10?

Okposo may be on LTIR, move Scandella for whatever it takes, then sign another UFO (Karlsson, Stone, Pararin) or two lower value and the team would look like a playoff team if not a contender. Botterill just needs to be patient and make his moves in the off season as he did last year (Skinner, Sheary and Pilut).

I left Scandella and Okposo on the roster as an exercise to show that BUF really can fit a 10M Point. Once all those guys are off, you can fit a Dahlins massive 10-11M contract that’s coming

Can you imagine Karlsson with Dahlin. It is not impossible since we also have Pilut, Larsson also on the team. TBH I would like to sign several less expensive UFA's for the short term instead of Point. Dzingel and Gardiner may only cost $6KK each, Staal at $4KK for 2 years and suddenly we have an awesome defense (Dahlin, Gardiner, Pilut and McCabe on the left and Karlsson, Ristolainen and Bogosian, may need to trade Zach, on the right). I would trade for Pearson at the TDL move Reinhart to the second line with Pearson and Staal, and Sheary to the top line with Jack and Jeff. Just my thought.
