Because McCabe would be better then most of the junk they currently have, one of McCabe, Nurse or Klefbom would need to be able to play on the right side though.

Is just dropping Jones into a top 4 role really wise?
Getting another proven top 4 like McCabe would let Jones develop in the AHL or 3rd pairing till he's ready for a top 4 role then at that point McCabe or one of the Oilers other top 4 D is a trade chip for a nice return.

I know but said earlier that if say this trade happened one of Klefbom, Nurse or McCabe would need to play on their offside, lots of defenseman do it especially left shot D and some prefer it, Brodie for example is one. Seriously Edmonton needs one more legit top 4 defenseman next season unless Sekera is healed up enough to do the job but with his injury history and the terrible season they've had I don't think they can take that risk for next season.
