Jordan staal could’ve developed into an Elite centre rather than getting his development stunted on the third line playing with Tyler Kennedy and Matt Cooke and having to play the Defensive role while sid and Malkin lit up the scoresheet. Then again pens wouldn’t even have staal cause pens with Crosby/ovi in 2005/06 wouldn’t come last, so for all intensive purposes, let’s say pens make the playoffs and draft Claude Giroux as their 2C. Now your forward core is set with: Crosby, Ovi, Giroux, fleury in net, letang, orpik, Whitney on the backend. Wayyyyy too much speculation lmao you can’t even speculate this.
