Montreals Defence needs a top pairing lefty. Plus they ain’t getting any younger either. I think they would do this trade for sure. Both players are on good contracts as well.

There is absolutely zero chance that we trade Gally except for a enormous overpayment... That trade is even an underpayment.

I think this trade is poor for the Oilers. Basically given better defense and or tending Oilers could be a playoff team. It's happened previously with teams that had three players pull such a large % of points.

Russell is basically negative value, take him off and add a 2nd, and I think Minny will consider. They like Dumba though, their GM is also an idiot though so who knows.

You would have to think MTL considers this deal long and hard. I just don't see them moving Gally, period. In a fantasy world, well thought! Realistically, I think Habs say no.

Ya I think the Klefbomb, Gallagher trade is fair. Why wouldn’t LA do that? So they can keep Kovalchuk watching from the seats upstairs for 6mill for 2 more seasons?? Lucic sucks don’t get me wrong but he had a 20 goal season with the Kings not to long ago and still healthy. Plus they get a good young prospect in Bear, and a 3rd round pick. I don’t think they are getting much better then that for a 36 year old Kovalchuk. A lot of people would say I’m giving up to much there and I probably am but Lucic has been a train wreck in Edmonton and they need skill wingers who can skate in a top 6 role IF Kovalchuk can even do that at the NHL level again is still yet to be seen. Still a gamble for Edmonton.

Well I can say if I was GM of Montreal I’d defeinley do that trade. I’m not saying that cause I’m an Oilers fan at all either. You gotta look at it this way, if they do the trade it’s not like they won’t have scoring depth up front. Drouin, Domi, Tatar, Koktanemi would all still be there and that’s just off the top of my head. Plus any other forwards they sign in the off-season or get in free agency. Who do they have have left D?? Jordie Benn and Karl Alzner?? Benn is 31 and a UFA and not a top pairing Dman. Do we really need to say how the Alzner situation is going?? Montreal needs Klefbomb and Webber that top line. Plus Klef is only 24. I’d do that trade all day if I was Montreal.
