If anything, I think this shows just how in trouble the Leafs are with the cap. They move out $9 mil and still are right up against it. It will be interesting to see if TOR can move Zaitsev. I don't think so but who knows what Dubas would be willing to package with him to just give him away.

Well he has the cap at $79.5 million as well. So add $3.5 million more to the cap and they have over $4 million. But you have to add AJ for close to $3m

I don't think anyone really wants a 3rd pairing D for $4.5 for another 5 years. A lot can change in that time.
