Solid team except I don't like the STL deal. The Oilers have Bear and Bouchard coming in two years, don't see the need to trade for a young RHD unless Larsson is going the other way. I think the Oilers just need a stop gap for 1 - 2 years and wait til those guys are able to play top 4 minutes.

Normally I would agree but I’m not sure the Oilers have 1-2 years to wait for Bouchard and Bear to be NHL ready. Having defensive depth, especially right-handed defensive depth, is also not a bad thing.

I think id rather have Parayko over any D man on the Oilers

I would too, except I'd rather have Nuge, Benning, and Bouchard over the next couple years. Parayko's great but I'm saying we've got a couple guys that could fill that role in a couple years.

And not to mention, acquiring Parayko means we'd lose one of Nurse, Larsson, or Klefbom in the expansion draft. If we just wait for Bouchard and sign a two year stop gap, we could protect those 3 and Bouchard.

We are on the same page then. This trade essentially isnt a good fit then.

Larsson will be a UFA the year of the expansion draft since it isn’t for 2 years so no need to protect him.
