Sort of take the best of your ideas. Let Duchene walk $7,500,000. As a Sabre fan I would take Wennberg, make me an offer $4,900,000. Dubinsky does not score much but he was amazing taking face offs in the defensive zone, IMO a team would take him (OTT) if there was an incentive (draft pick, or prospect) $5,850,000 or salary retention. Yes it is cap hell, and the Jackets are not the only team in this position. Win the cup then suffer for a few more years. BTW you know Torts was in the Buffalo system and was being groomed to take Muckler's spot as the Sabres Head Coach, so I have always rooted for what ever team he was coaching. Good luck, go Jackets!
