NYR would love it if they wearent so cap stricken and the d core in shambles still atm. They pass unless they can offload a contract like smith as well for Satl or some cap is held back. Also because they are still rebuilding i dont think this would be enough for nyr to say yes because kakko will be playing a top 6 role and nyr are in no rush for the next year or 2 so we would be wasting those years on Satl while kakko is 18 and Satl is just turning 24.

That is certainly a good offer but it puts me at an uneasy answer which makes me feel it's fair value but would nyr do it probably not and not by much once again their salary issues but you do solve them still achieving a top prospect from the draft and getting an elite player in Satl.

Stamkos, 11-12: 58 goals
Ovechkin, 14-15: 51 goals
Draisaitl, 18-19, 50 goals
Ovechkin, 13-14: 50 goals
Crosby, 09-10: 50 goals

While Ovechkin scored 1 more goal than Draisaitl this year, he had 4 EN goals vs 0 for Leon. Leon had 3 OTG's vs 0 for Ovi and also 3 SHG vs 0 for Ovi. If EDM was as good as WSH they would have had more EN chances and Draisaitl likely would have won the Rocket Richard Trophy this year.

As a ranger fan I dont like the idea of moving that pick but I dont think the rangers are a a legitimate contender next year. In making this trade you are able to get a young elite talent with cost certainty as well as a pick that will add another prospect who will be your first or second best prospect.

If I’m the oilers I’d never do that. Keep Mcdavid and Drai and build around them.
