You either massively overvalue Savard or massively undervalue Kadri.

    It could be both.
Realistically thought, Toronto gets a hard nosed Defencemen who is RHD and can play shut down role.
Jackets get a 2/3C on a friendly contract.

    Both teams win.

I would want Hamonic back for Kadri. Savard is fine but he is not good for being paired with Rielly.

You do realize that you can put guys on LTIR but you need to be under the cap with them on roster before season starts. So you need to shed 11 million in cap. Also you are million off on RFAs

Just send Nylander and Marleau to the A hope they claimed on waivers

Like 2 months ago all anyone could talk about was how valuable kadri, at his salary was. What happened?

It is crazy how I keep seeing leafs at the cap maximum. And with at least 5 mil in LTIR. If leafs are going to make a team at least make it realistic. And yes it starts with trading Nylander and kappy without taking cap back or rookie deals.

Yeah idk what they are going to do, as soon as the Marleau deal was signed for 3 years I knew there was going to be problems. I don't see where he fits on this roster next year but I don't think he brings a good return, also there's a respect thing for a guy like Marleau too not send him to a bs franchise for nothing. It's going to be an interesting off season forsure.

Wings have zero interest in Zaitsev's bad contract? Bowery is young cost controlled and could be a good 5 or 6 defenseman. Also why does Deteoit trade Zetrerberg? He costs only 1 million in real dollars and his cap hit is buried on LTIR. They have no cap issues and you want the Wings to take on 4.25 million in cap and real dollars while giving up nothing and taking back a young defenseman. Not going to happen.

Actually no they don’t. This is a common misconception of how the salary cap is calculated and the rules for opening day. Leafs can put Players on the ltir the last day of training camp and submit their opening day roster in this scenario at 11.38m over the cap for approval.

I feel like you both overrate Kadri and underrate Savard. Savard is a RHD, same age as Kadri, almost identical contract, is like a rock defensively, can chip in offensively, and is the type of D-Man that wins series (e.g. Dumoulin, Muzzin, etc. ) he's so similar to a Muzzin-type player... Idk what more you expect to get for Kadri

He's a 4.5M 3rd line centre... the Leafs have more important younger pieces to pay not only this offseason but next year too. The Leafs need to shed salary and he's a viable choice without affecting your top 6

Idk though.. Blues get a guy who has scored 20 goals, is a great hard nosed player and can produce in a more offensive role (playing on the 4th line in TOR) and he's only 2 years older than Fabbri. If anything Fabbri would be a bigger risk for TOR considering his injury history

    Fabbri>Brown.
Upside or ceiling for Fabbri is higher. Even with his injury history, STL should keep him and give him some solid line-up time in 2019/20.
If he doesn't show some flash etc., it's probably likely he's expendable at the 2020 trade deadline or the following draft.
