Columbus probably doesn’t match, 9.5 is way too much for Werenski, but Detroit would be stupid to give him 5 years because he’s a UFA at that point, so it would probably be 6-7 years at 9.5 and that would mean 4 1st round picks for an average defensive player.

if they were offered 2 1sts a 2nd and a 3rd at the deadline for werenski you dont think theyd do that? trade the 2 firsts for trouba sign him for 7.5 and you have a better dman than werenski and 2 picks still. werenski isn't worth it is all im saying. i agree they need talent but you cant let a gift get by you
