If Simmonds only gets 2.8M teams have finally caught on to the "power forward's wear down earlier than other skaters" theory. I believe it's true, but I think some team will be foolish enough to give him over 4M for atleast 4 years given the fact he's only 30. Look at what JVR, Backes and Lucic got as UFA's and I'm not saying those are good deals, but it'd be crazy for teams to go from offering a healthy 6M+ for more term to offering only 2.8m for 4 years.

So you want us to give up our only 2 RHD for a 60 pt player? How does that help the FLyers?

The Kadri for Gudas, Strome, 2nd and 4th, I think is a pretty fair price:

Gudas was immensely solid last year, makes 1.3 less than Kadri, plays with an edge, all things TOR needs
Strome had a great year in juniors, and is probably worth a high 2nd pick in exchange

So its Gudas, 1.3 savings against cap, 2 high 2nds and a 4th.

Yeah the Hamilton deal is light, I was thinking cost savings of Hagg, who plays a nice physical/hitting game and is young. Suffice to say instead of Vorobyev, a 3rd and a 4th, I think a fairer deal for Hamilton is either:

Hamilton for Hagg and our 1st OR Hamilton for Hagg, solid prospect/1st round pick last year Jay O’Brien and NJD 3rd

Agree with you, but think a 4 year deal and coming back to PHI might help. I think he will not see much over his current salary in UFA, 4.75 or so, but after this year and last years playoffs, he will not attract tons of offers. PHI might even offer closer to 4mil for 4yrs, but that would mean foregoing McQuaid in bottom pairing from a financial point.

For Philly, hes a fan favourite and can still play a banging game, (albeit from 4th line and some PP time) which they lack. The other option would be Tanev.
