Isn't easier to just say you're not trading any of those players?

Yes, it is, but people don't realize that 6 games doesn't define a players career (Makar) and that Drai is a top tier player in this league

For an elite 1/2/3/4 punch for your team. I think Timmins is stretching it but Jost is to replace Drai, Makar for the elite prospect, and the #4 OA this year is not guaranteed to be good

Okay, but you wont get that in return.. who's to say the 4oa doesnt turn out to be better that leon? Wasnt he a 3rd or 4th oa himself, plus everything else you want?

Yes, he was 3rd OA. I've heard this year's draft class outside of Kakko and Hughes won't be the greatest. In that Drai draft Ekblad, W. Nylander, Ehlers, Larkin, Pastrnak, Kapanen, Montour, Donato, and Dvorak were all drafted that year. All really good players,

I'll compare this Drai trade to the McDonaugh/Miller trade which in my mind comes close but isn't equal to Drai it's a little less.
NYR got back Vlad Namestikov, Libor Hajek, Brett Howden, a 1st in '18 (Lundkvist), and a 2nd in '19.
Sure Namestikov has been a bust with only 31 points this year, Hajek wasn't great this year at a -26 in the AHL but in 5 games with NYR he had a goal and was a +1, Howden had 23 points in 66 games with NYR but was a -16, Lundkvist had 12 points in 45 games and was a +15 in Sweden in the SHL and SuperElit League, he also had 5 points in 9 playoff games there too and was a +/- 0, and a 2nd in '19. Hajek and Lundkvist are both considered blue chippers. Howden will be 40 to 45 point player next year I consider him a blue chipper too. So they got 3 blue chippers, a bust, and a 2nd which is where Hajek was taken. So could be another blue chipper or a B-List. Hajek was ranked 5th in NYR top prospects by the NHL.com rankings in the 2018 offseason. So possibly 4 blue chippers or 3 blue chippers and a B-lister.
https://nyrangersnews.com/2019/03/06/where-the-rangers-top-prospects-rank/
https://www.nhl.com/news/new-york-rangers-prospect-watch/c-299779076
So my comparables are Howden to Jost very similar numbers, Lundkvist is comparable to the COL 1st, Hajek and the 2nd to Makar, but that's still not equivalent but to me that's the difference between McDonaugh/Miller to Drai.
So, my revised trade proposal Leon Draistail for Makar, Jost, and the COL 1st round pick this year.

For McDavid what should I add? Another 1st or another top prospect? Also why is it an over payment on the Drai trade?

McDavid is a generational player. Hughes looks to be a sure-thing franchise player, but no one is suspecting that he will be the best player in the league. Top 5-10 player, sure. Perennial Hart/Linsdsay trophy candidate, probably not.

Hischier is a decent player, but he hasn't really established himself as a quality 1C in the league yet. Could he still get there, sure. He's not cracking the 100 point threshold any time soon like McDavid does every year though.

Smith is a quality defensive prospect. Certainly a top pairing defenseman, but he's no Drew Doughty.

So what it boils down to is you're proposing trading 3 really good, if not great players, for arguably the best player of this generation. Meanwhile, you have fans suggesting that their team offer sheet MItch Marner and give up 4x 1st round picks. If you're going to acquire McDavid, I would say not only do you have to give up the haul you're offering here, but also NJ's 1st round picks in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Even if they do it, Edmonton's GM will get death threats for the foreseeable future, much like Pocklington did when he traded away Gretzky.

Draisaitl is a quality player, but I don't think Colorado would even do Cale Makar and the 4th overall pick for him, especially after the playoff debut Makar is having. They might go for that haul if you remove Makar from the trade or downgrade the 1st round pick to Colorado's pick instead of Ottawa's.

I don't profess to know what Colorado would or wouldn't do, but I think Makar + the 4th overall is underselling just how good Draisaitl really is. I get the impression that many fans think Draisaitl is strictly riding McDavid's coattails and that any half decent player would score 50 on his wing, but they just aren't looking at the facts. Anybody who watches him knows that Draisaitl has the ability to physically take over a game, the way few players in the history of the NHL could do.

When he's on his game he's a treat to watch. He isn't siphoning points from McDavid, he's a top-shelf talent on his own. With his package of size and skill, his contract and at his age, there's really only 2 players in the league I would consider trading Draisaitl for on a 1-for-1 basis, and one of them is already on his team.

I totally agree with this. I was wondering do you think COL would do Drai for Makar, Jost, and a COL 1st?

Dear lord what a bunch of ribble rabble this is. Dari is a great player but you are being delusional, makar and the 4th overall then you want other top assets. Give your head a shake and realize the value you asking for while
Being a fan boy about the oilers for some strange reason

I can’t even imagine what delusional value you have for Drouin

It's called number and facts BTW

If I was COL I would, I'm certain Edmonton wouldn't accept that though. It would have to be OTT 1st to get them to the table I'd imagine.
