Johnson is 31 years old, he makes $6M a year and quite frankly isn't worth anywhere near that amount, he doesn't score, his possession numbers are average, at best.

Kadri is a huge bargain at $4.5M so despite the perception that Toronto wants to move him he isn't going to be dealt out in a deal that adds salary and does little to improve the team

Kadir isnt a huge bargin, his point totals have been dropping every year since he signed that contract, last year his goal production dropped by half, hes 28 and still a snap show of a player who does dumb penalties that will hurt his team. Worst point totals this year after getting the most Ozone starts in his career, start of a few red flags.

Hes was a value but with his declining numbers, hes just market value and I wouldnt want him on my team based on the head case aspect of him.

Kadri posted his best season, 32G 29A, in the 1st year of his contract so just stupid to say his points have been dropping ever since he signed the deal. He followed that up with another 55 point 32 goal season which while less than the year before was still higher than any years before he signed the deal. In 2016-18 the number of centers earning less than $5M against the cap with back to back 30 goal seasons were 2 - Kadri and Rackell.

Kadri takes so many "dumb penalties" that he ranks 76th among NHL forwards in penalties over the past 2 seasons, less than guys like MacKinnon, Killorn or Nick Foligno. His production is so terrible the past 3 years that he has more goals than Jack Eichel $10M), Matt Duchene ($6M and likely$9M+ after this year) or Johnathon Toews ($10.5M) to name just a few centers who make considerably more than him.

He had his best year of possession stats this past year and his best year in the face off circle. Through the first 9 years of his career his closest comp is Ryan Kesler who was making 8% of the cap at Kadri's age while Kadri's deal, assuming an $83M cap next year, will be just over 5%. So while you "may not want him on your team" I can guarantee 90% of NHL GMs would and he's a huge bargain

His point totals have been dropping since his career high. You’re playing semantics here. Facts are facts it’s back to back declining production despite getting more o zone starts
