Description
Marleau retires, I’ve loved the guy for years he’ll be too proud to play another year at the level he did last season. I’m guessing leafs and him have a side agreement to sit on LTIR before officially signing his retirement papers
Everyone has Zaitsev being moved, but I don’t think there is a deal out there that makes sense at his current depreciated value

Read the description! He won’t retire for a year, and don’t tell me about teams having players sit on LTIR without cause it happens every single year for a lot of teams

Thanks, yes. Robidas is another. I love how anti leafs people think just cause they dislike the leafs the try anything to dump on them. I don’t have any issues when other teams try to do this kind of thing to improve themselves.
Note to all If your biased against a team at least try to hide it

I can not speak to everyone on your list but I can to 4 of the players.

Hossa had 26 goals his final year of playing and was checked out by league doctors in New York and though is seemed fishy I do believe did it' homework.

Zetterberg played 82 games last season bit he rarely if ever practiced and and he had a history of back issues. He has had at least 1 surgery and took time off both during previous seasons and he even had to leave the Olympics early due to back problems.

Pronger is another player who has a history of injuries. Hell he had to take time off due to a puck striking him in the heart. And again their were ba k issues, prior to his calling it quits.

Marelau has zero history of injuries, hell he is an iron man in a sport where players are hurt all the time. You just can no stick him on LTIR because he no longer fits into team plan or costs you in cap. Everyone of the players you listed had to go thru an evaluation by the league in New York.

Fransen is the case that really upsets me, you know nothing of what you are talking about and by using his name you prove to be a dullard. It has been chronicled in local Detroit media and national media of his issues with concussions. It has been stated that he can not leave the bed for weeks on end and he sits in dark room to a oid the head pain. You made yourself look like and idiot, in my eyes when you included his name.

And do not say it is Maple Leaf hatred, if another person would have used Fransen as an example I would be upset with them.

No need to name call, every board on this site are fans opinions and what they think could happen.
Marleau has been a high end professional on and off the ice for a long time. All I’m saying is after the last year I cannot see him taking 4th line minutes and healthy scratches.
Instead I think it’s very plausible he finds himself unable to play due to chronic arthritis?
Based on his salary structure it’s again plausible to think this was pre considered and no doctor can determine the pain threshold for these players.
