5.
DAL
  1. Dubinsky, Brandon ($850,000 retained)
  2. Nutivaara, Markus
Additional Details:
Dallas gets the perfect 2RD to play next to Heiskanen. They played together in Finland, and Nutivaara's play-style is the perfect compliment to Heiskanen's. He's a very strong puck possession defenseman, and would thrive in Dallas with top-4 minutes.

Due to Dallas having the cap space, they are willing to take on almost all of the awful Dubinsky contract, freeing up $5M for the Blue Jackets to use for the next 2 years.
CBJ
  1. Felhaber, Tye
  2. Tufte, Riley
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
With Dallas adding a 2nd round pick, and taking on Dubinsky's contract, instead of Dellandrea OR Robertson, the Stars are sending recent 1st Round Pick, Riley Tufte and OHL standout Tye Felhaber.

Tufte is a big, physical, power-forward that does a solid job in the dirty areas and in front of the net. He's still a year out from being NHL ready, but could turn into a very good middle-6 winger. Think Boone Jenner, but bigger, and more physical.

Felhaber is an offensive threat from anywhere in the offensive zone. His shot is fantastic, his vision is incredible, and he's got a good Hockey-IQ. He tore up the OHL this season (which he should have done as an overager) and could prove to be a valuable offensive asset sooner rather than later. He won't be the 100-point player he was in the OHL this year, but he has the qualities and the potential to be a solid 50-60 point player at his ceiling.

Not too far. Though I doubt Columbus takes it unless we need the cap room from dubinskys contract to resign our UFAs but as it stands they don’t need to because the players aren’t likely to come back.

The deal kinda makes sense from the viewpoint that Seth Jones is going to play a lot of ice time (25-26Minutes) and then Savard can play 20 minutes so they really only need a 14 or 15 minute defender as their other RD.

I think they'd feel more comfortable with a 1 for 1 for someone to be their new 2nd line C once Duchene leaves. I don't see Felhaber having enough value right now for them to do the deal, but it does offer some talent for their good player.

Yeah, they really aren't in any need to move Dubinsky or clear cap space. This deal wouldn't be a "cap clearing" move for the Jackets. It would be a move that allows them to re-stock their forward prospect pool and add a couple of forwards to Foudy (Texier has graduated as a prospect). How do you see the right side of the Jackets defense panning out next season? Is Nutivaara going to play ahead of Savard? Or is he going to likely be a 3RD again?

That was kind of my thought behind the trade. Nutivaara is getting buried on the depth chart due to Jones & Savard ahead of him. I honestly think Tortorella is going to role with Texier as 2C as early as next season. His breakthrough has lessened the need for a 2C. He's essentially the Blue Jackets version of Roope Hintz (Stars 2C).

Hintz >> Texier from what I've seen and it isn't really close at all. I think Texier needs more seasoning as a possible 3rd C option but he can't make it against the other teams top lines imo. Maybe if Wennberg has a good offseason they won't even need a #2 C though.

Didn't pay attention to that trade at all. Just traded them to someone that had a lot of picks over the next couple of years.

I think Nuttivaara will end up with Savard on the second pair on the left side.
