If I was NJ I would take that. But why do you need him? With Aho, Staal, and Necas next season, you should be fine down the middle

Necas isn’t ready to be a 1 or 2 C, and he’d be better suited in a playmaking winger role next year. Right now Wallmark is our 3C, while he has played well, he is ideally a 4C. We need right shot forwards and center experience...two birds one trade.

I don't know who C. Bishop is , but I would say yes .
The Devils organization would probably say no. They wants Zajac to stay & mentor the youngsters

I agree that Necas won't be ready for the top 6, but Staal in my opinion is at least as good as Zajac at this point, and 5 years younger. Meaning Necas could play 3C or you could sign a free agent. Zajac will be 35 next season, do you really want to pay him 4.5 million for 2 seasons and give up a 2nd and a 3rd round pick? You could probably sign Spezza or Brassard for 1or 2 year deals cheaper than that

Zajac a better two way player than the group of UFAs you mention or would be able to be signed in Carolina.

The point was finding a 3C, not replacing Staal or Aho.

Best place to play Necas is as a 3C with two responsible but still offensively capable wingers and preferably veteran ones or guys with a few years under their belts at least but don't play him at 4C cause there's just not enough minutes there and 4th line wingers aren't typically gonna match a guy like Necas' skill set, if he's just not ready send him to the AHL cause 4th line/healthy scratch does nothing for a young players development.

Totally agree...if they can find a capable 3C I’d consider Necas as RW with Staal on 2nd line. Post was about Zajac

Yes I know, I didn't get into it but I also think that if you want a young player who was drafted as a C to eventually play C then play/develop him at C, putting them on the wing is just a bad idea. I see how successful the Habs were with Kotkaniemi in his first season and how badly the Jets effed up Roslovic's first season bouncing him from RW and 4th line center, it didn't go well. Do what the Habs did with Kotkaniemi.
Just this A-holes opinion.
