Why is Palat's value so low? Surely the cap crunch wouldn't reduce his value by THAT much?

Palat is on the decline. I wouldn't want to see him in a Canucks uniform.

I dont think so, but I'm not super familiar with Canuck prospects coming back otherwise Id go after something more.

I just truly feel Palat is a fantastic fit for Vancouver right now. I really wanna see him on that roster.

He's still really sound defensively and would complement Vans young forwars really well.

Vancouver has too many left wingers. We would take or consider Gourde or Miller, but not Palat or Killorn.

Being able to ship out both Gourde and Palat this offseason would be insanely good. Would literally solve all our cap future problems

It depends on how effective Palat can be down the line. He's already 28, so he doesn't really fit with our future core. He would look nice with either Horvat or Pettersson though.

It's probably not worth it if we break into our prospect pool, but for something cheap like two 4ths it would absolutely be considered at least. Benning wants to make the Playoffs next (rightly or wrongly) and that type of move something that would help him.

He's only got 3 years left on his contract, resign him cheap and play him town the lineup or just let him walk. He makes Vancouver better now and lets you take a little more time with your prospects.

Maybe, but he's an upgrade on most of them. Miller is staying in Tampa or being moved for much much more. Feel like Gourde is a better fit in Edmonton.

Fair enough. Again, for the price of two 4ths it makes sense. If you want us to part with any of our young players then it get's complicated.

Palat can play RW though right? I'm pretty sure he can but I just want to make sure. I think he'd end up on Horvat's RW ideally.

Also, how would you feel about a deal involving Callahan? Send Callahan along with a 2nd and 3rd for a late pick in return. We'd immediately just buy him out.

Tampa plays an F1 F2 F3 system that kinda has their forwards roam a lot. I don't think he's played "RW" but he's played on the right side enough that he wouldnt have a problem adjusting.

Ok. So I knew I was overpaying for Brodie. Would you still take him without the pick?

I agree but I want him off the roster and I dont want salary coming back. He's a great fit for Vancouver, maybe we push for better picks, as above we probs don't get a prospect back.

Just trying out different stuff. Every Tampa roster seems to be the same: Miller out Karlsson in.

Can get something better than that for Palat.
Doubt Gourde, Joseph and a late 1st would get the Oilers 1st.

Maybe. But Joseph would become the next Jonathan Cheechoo on McDavids wing.
