Some of these are pretty interesting ideas. I think that's a very realistic return in a PIT-ARI trade, although the Coyotes would be taking on a lot of extra salary. It hurts that we wouldn't get much immediate roster help in a Phil trade, but that's a pill I think the fans will have to swallow.

I could see a trade scenario similar to that with Carolina for Faulk, but from what I've read it sounds like Jarry would be the goalie moved instead of DeSmith. And I think Carolina would want a forward in return instead of Maatta, since they're pretty deep on defense.

Props to you for an imaginative retooling.

    Thanks for the feedback.

For the CAR trade, I'm fine with either DeSmith or Jarry. It really depends on whether they re-sign Mrazek. If they re-sign him, I'd imagine they want Jarry more, but if not, DeSmith could fill his role better. Not to mention that they have their own Jarry in the team in the form on Nedeljkovic. As for their D, they don't really have that much D prospects behind their current roster with the exception Bean, so getting a replacement for Faulk could work. But yes, I agree that CAR would probably like to get a forward in exchange to Faulk.

As a Minnesota fan, I'd be happy if Rust and Kapanen were the returns for Zucker and getting rid of Aberg. I don't really think the picks would need to go to Minnesota in this case. Fenton loves his hockey trades!

Edit: just noticed the salary retention, so maybe just the 2nd round pick for the salary?

I suppose it's fine. Yeah I constructed the trade as Schultz+3rd for Zucker as Schultz only has one year left on his contract, and then Rust for Åberg since saving cap is in the best interest of PIT. Then Åberg for Petan, and Schultz for Kapanen and the 2nd is for retaining salary and evening out the value.

I think the value is fair. Only issue for the Penguins now becomes acquiring that RHD. I dont know if CAR is the best trade partner, even though we've dealt in the past. If they have a plan to replace Schultz, I think its fair.

TOR / MIN Trade - No way - Id rather have Kappy over Zucker + not lose Rusty
DAL Trade - NO - Id rather have Bjugstad and keep Addison over Faksa
CAR Trade - No - Billy G wont let Bjorkqvist get traded / Maatta has more value than that
    ARZ Trade - No Thanks
BUF trade - Teddy B stays

It's pretty wild because it's a lot of moves but I like the fact that Pens end up with almost 9 million in cap space

TOR/MIN trade - then you'd have to retain Schultz's salary, no way TOR can afford to take it in exchange to Kappy.
DAL trade - you save money and Faksa isn't that far from Bjugstad in level.
CAR trade - how much do you think Määttä has value then?
ARI trade - tbh you won't get a much better deal than that, assuming Roenick is right Kessel would only agree to go to ARI.
BUF trade - fine, not a big deal.

I just dont like this roster for Pens , actually think it makes Pens a much worse team and nobody but Zucker / Faksa are the type of players GMJR would go after.

If trading Schultzy Id just much rather have Kappy + back over Zucker , Keep Rusty (he does everything) , want NO part of Aberg also
Bjugstad has a much better offensive side + GMJR has been trying to trade for him for 2yrs , he aint getting moved
Maatta is a top 4 Dman w/ rings that is still only 24 .. that just needs a change - GMJR will get value back for him
ARZ trade - would rather keep Kessel for that

The Arizona trade is a steal for the Pens. Dumping the Johnson contract is an automatic win.

I don't mind the 3 way trade losing Schultz and Rust hurts a lot though.

Easy no to the Dallas, Carolina and Florida trades though

Hinostroza is better than that though. Cheap 25yo 40 point forward. Points wise was better than any of your current RWs (excluding Kessel), in a weaker team.
