gross... The Toronto one is the only one that makes any sense... giving up ANYTHING for Trouba right now, when he can be signed as a free agent next year is poor asset management, offer sheets are idiotic and giving up AA for ANYTHING other than an ELITE player, is short-sighted at best (he scored 30 goals last year and is only trending up, not to mention Ristolainen is horribly over-rated)

I personally wouldn't do the Buffalo trade, Risto is a turnover machine and AA came into his own last year. And id try to swap Cholowski with Bowey, then add another player or prospect (Helm retained? Rasmussen? Better picks?). I don't mind the Zaitsev trade, maybe try to pry a better pick for taking on salary. Beauty of this site, anything can happen.

the canes have nothing but cash so yeah they match that. I like the Toronto deal , I thin zaitzev had a decent year and looked more like his rookie season than last year. no way the buffalo deal happens. I dont love RR. the one thing I love about this is Turcotte. I hope that happens .

hey, we agree on something! haha

I don't think Turcotte will be there, but if he is (and Byram isn't by some crazy luck), that'd be a great pick

I get why Winnipeg management and Jets fans want a sign-and-trade deal, but why does Trouba?
1) He's 13 months out of UFA and doesn't know the approximate cap for next year (unlike Stone who was 4 months out and knew the cap situation).
2) There's some real animosity between Trouba and Jets' management, why do people think he is going to do them a favor on his way out the door when it costs him?
3) It costs Trouba because he can only negotiate with teams with cap space plus assets to trade instead of just cap space 13 months from now where the market for him gets bigger and he gets the final decision on where he goes. Trouba can sign a 1 year offer sheet and get to UFA if the Jets want to play hard ball or elect to take him to arbitration.

Turcotte will be gone by 6.

Zaitsev is a 3rd pair d-man with offensive struggles that is being paid like a #2-3 d-man. He's turnover prone and has peaked hence why he's getting 2 minutes less per game than 2 years ago. Green has a full not trade until Feb 2020 so he could block the deal if he wanted to anyways. And if you are retaining 50% of Green's salary and giving up a pick you are going to want more than Zaitsev back.
