Jarvis I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but it looks like the two numerical values get mixed up in the French site. In the example below, it should be Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 instead of Choix de 2024 ronde en 2e. Basically, the year and the round should be switched.

Thanks, we will look into making a fix

More NCAA players returning (rights expiry to move back a year to 8/15/2024)

1. Carter Berger (FLA) going back to WMU for 5th year
2. Quinn Olson (BOS) to UMD
3. Matthew Thiessen (VAN) same
4. Luke Loheit (OTT) same
5. Logan Neaton (WPG) returns to Miami

Remaining players with 8/15/2023 expiry
-- Tyler Weiss (COL), Jack Gorniak (MTL), Ben Brinkman (DAL), Gavin Hain (PHI), Nick Leivermann (COL), Ryan O'Connell (TOR) have all used their fifth years already
-- Austin Wong (WPG) hasn't entered transfer portal and is from conference that doesn't allow 5th year
-- Kevin Wall expects to go pro (Still unsigned)

That leaves the following unaccounted for (possible August 15th free agents)
1. Jay O'Brien (PHI) will not be signed
2. Ryan Johnson (BUF)
3. Robert Mastrosimone (DET) unlikely to sign
4. John Farinacci (ARI) will not be signing in Arizona
5. Harrison Blaisdell (WPG)
6. Owen Lindmark (FLA)
7. Simon Kjellberg (NYR)
8. Bryce Brodzinski (PHI)

All others have either said they are returning to school or are signing pro deal

Thanks very much!

Have updated all, going to leave McCarthy for now.

On the Canadiens reserve list (https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/reserve-list/canadiens) Daniil Sobolev has rights expiry date set for 2025, yet apparently it doesn't take into account that he was drafted out of the CHL: he was signed by OHL's Windsor Spitfires before the 2020/21 season (it is reflected on his eliteprospects page: https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/588569/daniil-sobolev), but no games were held there due to COVID. Still in 2021 he was drafted, so, if I understand correctly, as for every CHL player his rights should expire in two years after that, so on Jun. 1, 2023.

From our understanding, he was drafted as a non-North American player and then played in North America. Therefore his expiry will be listed as Jun 1, 2025.

Bryce Brodzinski going back for a 5th year. So I think his eligability gets extended. Right?

That should leave, as possible Aug 15 free agents...

ARI: John Farinacci, C, Harvard (confirmed ARI will not sign)
BUF: Ryan Johnson, LHD, Minnesota
CAR: Kevin Wall, RW, Penn State (but is "expected to go pro")
COL: Nick Leivermann, LHD, Notre Dame
COL: Tyler Weiss, C/W, Omaha
DAL: Ben Brinkman, LHD, Notre Dame
DET: Robert Mastrosimone, C, Arizona State (confirmed DET will not sign)
MTL: Jack Gorniak, RW, Wisconsin (confirmed MTL will not sign)
NYR: Simon Kjellberg, LHD, Northern Michigan
PHI: Gavin Hain, LW, North Dakota
PHI: Jay O'Brien, C, Boston University (confirmed PHI will not sign)
TOR: Ryan O'Connell, LHD, Michigan Tech
WPG: Harrison Blaisdell, C, New Hampshire
WPG: Austin Wong, C/W, Harvard

None were in transfer portal, which is now closed

Only Johnson, Mastrosimone, Kjellberg, Blaisdell could still opt for fifth year.
Wall has a year, but has been announced he is not returning.
Farinacci and Wong play Ivy league, which won't allow an extra year (would have had to transfer).
O'Brien and Johnson were 1st rounders, so their teams would get 2024 2nd round compensatory picks

This seemed like the best thread so this La Presse article seems to indicate the Habs may have Joe Vrbetic’s rights until June 1st 2025

( Translated and abbreviated ) “ All signs pointed to Vrbetic’s rights expiring on this June 1st but an obscure clause in the CBA ( section 8.6 ), means the Habs will hold his rights until June 1st 2025.

Ilya Sorokin's new contract currently isn't listed as an extension, but I assume it should be.

Also, I presume the Predators' GM should be updated to be Barry Trotz instead of David Poile.

Tucker Robertson's contract appears to have been mistakenly labeled as a standard contract instead of an ELC.

Also, was Ryan McLeod's previous contract for 2022-23 ever formally confirmed? It's still listed as 'unconfirmed' on his player page, but it seems like y'all have contracts confirmed fairly quickly nowadays.

On Brenden Morrow’s page, it lists his Sep 23 2013 Contract as signed by Tampa Bay, he signed that contract with St-Louis and only played the 13-14 season with them

Nikolai Kovalenko's contract is listed as a standard but shouldn't it be an ELC since he's 23 and it's his 1st deal?

James Van Riesmdyk’s contract with the Bruins signed on July 1st is still listed as unconfirmed, so is Mason Morelli’s with Vegas

Still haven't 100% confirmed them. There's always a few contracts from July 1 that take a bit.

It appears that CapFriendly says draft rights were lost for Case McCarthy on August 15th. But he is using his 5th year eligibility at Boston University, thus NJ should still own rights.

Even though he's returning for a 5th year, we can confirm his rights were lost.

I love the Salary Cap History page. Its one of the many good sources on CapFriendly that is little buried (maybe should be under "Archive" or somewhere easier to find).

But I believe there is an error for 2012-13. It was first season after new CBA and they had reduced the cap ceiling for 2013-14 (or "year 2" as it was called then) to the $64.3 million number...but teams were still allowed up $70.2 million for 2012-13 season (all of which took place in 2013) as transition year.

I know it was a weird year for cap numbers, and a shortened season, but I think it at least should be footnoted.
