Whats Trouba worth if Tampa would trade for his rights

Created by: Zwui21

Description
Winnipeg Jets TheAthletic beatwriter Murat Ates wrote this in an article talking about a hypothetical Trouba to Tampa trade:
Ates: Tyler Johnson’s offensive stats while playing alongside Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov are clear of Bryan Little. That said, I can’t imagine he waives his no-trade clause, leaving Winnipeg to make a difficult case for second-line centre J.T. Miller or the sublimely talented, pint-size centre/winger Yanni Gourde. Both of these latter players are extremely compelling but would likely take a signed Trouba.

Both teams have to dump cap., seems like a bad fit for both team. Plus Tampa have continuing cap issues next year so a long term signed Trouba unlikely. Miller and Gourde are really the only two players of NHL quality that would probably go to the Jets.

Trouba wants at least Hedman money 7 x 8 or 8 x 8 for a sign and trade. He's not worth his asking price. And it would take far more then just J T Miller to make it happen. Pretty sure he's the same one that said Mike Green as a piece from Detroit for Trouba. Doubt the guy has much credibility.

    How about...

Trade done at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft

    Tampa Bay Lightning
    Jacob Trouba

    Winnipeg Jets
    J.T. Miller
    Adam Erne
    Negotiating rights of Anton Strålman
Condtional 2020 3rd round pick (turns 2nd round pick if Strålman doesn't sign with the Jets)

I read that Trouba wasn't too happy about taking a backseat to Dustin Byfuglien, That he wanted a bigger role there in Winnipeg. If that's the case then why would he go to Tampa and be in the exact same position behind Hedman? Pretty sure he wants to go where he can be the #1 guy. And that's pretty much Detroit.

Pretty sure that Yzerman will offer a by far better deal to bring Trouba home to Detroit then this. He wants to go where he can be top dog. Not happening in Tampa with Hedman there.

Hedman is Left handed........ Making Trouba and him the top pair. Seems to fit quite nicely.

I'll take JT Miller and a pick over almost anything DET could offer.

LMFAO Yeah right, Mantha+Hronek+Detroit's 2nd round pick or AA+Hronek+Detroit's 2nd round pick blows that offer away by a country mile. Just Yzerman isn't dumb enough to do it. Because we're rebuilding. Trouba to Tampa isn't happening and the Lightning are my 2nd favorite team. He'll be with his fiancee there in Fort Lauderdale before Tampa.

I was assuming that ridiculous trades were off the table... In which case, yes... I'll take JT Miller and a pick. Over what Detroit would be willing to offer. I also see a fit in FLA. No question... but I wouldn't rule out TB.... or PHI.... or NYR.

Out of curiosity, it you were DET, what would you offer for Trouba? Note that you said a "far better deal" meaning that it should worth more than Miller and a first. That's essentially the value of what I was offering there.

Starting to warm to Trouba .. dont like the cap add though.. would have to send both Miller and Gourde out for it to fit .. cant send Callahan due to Winnipeg cap .. Tampa has TWO sneaky valuable assets in Sergachev and Joseph .. both played in worlds at 21 for Russia and Canada!!!!! .. either of those two would be key to 2019 deal .. I see one of those packaged with a Miller/Goude/Johnson/Palat/Killorn .. to make the numbers work for a Trouba like guy .. still think a 4M to 5M type like Faulk and Risto and Harmonic is better way to go and keep your RFAs
