Nashville would rather keep Jarnkrok - not a bad trade, but I think they see more value in Jarnkrok at that price/term than a UFA defenseman

true, just depends how their UFA/RFAs shake out. Some more snarl on blueline is needed and gudas had a good year and is still youngish. But I think he'd be a great add in PHI.

Jarnkrok is great because he can play up and down a line-up and is on a great contract. I like Gudas too and wouldn't mind adding him. Maybe a slightly different deal - maybe revolving around Watson? Bonino? Salomaki? Pitlick? Likely need a pick for some of these to even out the value.

They make good trade partners, but all those above (bar salomaki) are too expensive or bottom 6 guys, which philly doesn;t need, they need a 2C (Hayes?) or a top 4 dman or barring that a good solid veteran whos inexpensive, like Jarnkrot that can drive play and help youngsters.

I don't know if MTL trades gosth for drouin 1 for 1. I know that the rumours of Shaw and Byron for Gosth is bullcrap but Therrien does not seem like the kind of guy who would like Drouin... He never liked Galchenyuk when he was with the Habs and Drouin is known for lacking heart. I was wondering how you guys felt about a trade where we send Petry? he would become your first pairing RD. I don't think the trade would be 1 for 1 but maybe adding things on the sides would make it even.

nah man you got it all wrong. Every Montreal fan sees it as Shaw and a 2nd for Gost. Shaw is apparently the GOAT to them

Petry is good, but dont think hes a good number one pairing guy, and trading ghost for him doesn;t really address problem for PHI. (i think PHI probably gets a trouba or spurgeon for ghost, who IMO are better options.) Drouin is intriguing, and probably not a flyer type player, but his value is low and i think its a very close trade, one headache for ghost, who is also a sink or swim type.

Don't see MIN taking that deal. Spurgeon is a very good player and none of the assets are either worth him nor help Wild as a team. Lindblom is the only one with some value but MIN is loaded with LWs already.

Ghost need a add to go against Drouin like the swap of first rounder and you have a done deal .

cap wise, petry is MUCH cheaper than getting Trouba... with about the same production.

Also, Petry showed he could handle top pair minutes last season... playing with Kulak or Benn... now imagine him with Provorov or Sanheim.

Gostisbehere is younger and on a way better contract than Petry and provides a ton more puck movement than him too.. would take more than just a 2nd added on to that deal to get him

I think they brink both the same amount of puck movement. Saying the opposite means you haven't paid attention to Petry's game

I'm saying that you are probably not very familiar with Petry's game to say that Ghost brings a "ton" more puck movement than him. It's not about disagreement on opinion, it's a simple factual error. Petry's whole point is about being a puck moving, offensive Dman.
