Yeah, after seeing the Dion buyout this looks like a real possibility.
From a Toronto side I would absolutely do it

I agree that the Phaneuf buyout may open a chance for Marleau to be moved to LA but if the Kings are giving up Clifford they will want more than Bracco & a 7th to sweeten the pot.

Clifford is actually exactly the type of player Toronto should be targeting, one year left on a cheap contract, physical and a good possession guy at a position they need.

Change Bracco to a different prospect and it's more likely. Doubt Toronto moves 1 of Bracco, Sandin, or Liljegren to move either Marleau or Zaitsev. The value isn't there for them to do it

If they get Clifford back I can see them moving Bracco. Moving Marleau is pretty much essential if they want to sign Kapanen & Johnsson (I'm assuming they resign Marner) they definitely aren't moving either of the Swedish Dmen in a salary dump though

Personally, I'd move Bracco in a heartbeat to move either of Marleau or Zaitsev. I think he's highly one dimensional and won't be that effective on Toronto. But Leafs management seems to think highly of him, they'd have to get something significant to move Bracco. I don't think Clifford fits the build

I understand there must be something in the trade for the Kings. But let's face it, Marleau's contract doesn't cost much in terms of real money. So the trade amounts to Bracco, the top player in the AHL, for Clifford, an enforcer. And the Leafs can play Marchment, a younger and cheaper enforcer if they need to. It's not good.

I can see two options for swapping players with the Kings, and making this an interesting trade on both ends. One, Trevor Moore, because he's native from California. He's great, really. So this means something serious coming the other way. LaDue would be the player I'd want coming the other way. Two, a young LHD, which can help the Kings a lot in their rebuild, and the Leafs have an abundance of (Borgman, Rosen, ...).

If Toronto can dump Marleau and lose nothing on their roster and retain nothing I will pack Braccos bags myself. Although I think he will be a top 6/9 in the NHL, its fair

Marchment's Dad was an enforcer, Mason Marchmenthas never drawn more than 60 pim in a season since Tier 2 Jr A, also from the LA end the Marleau contract doesn't mean much but for Toronto it's huge
