Isles Fans - Would you do it

Description
Just curious if Lou would do it. Instead of the 4 1sts, Leafs get some impact players. Barzal is a C, but could he play RW with Tavares again and Leafs get a RD. I think Marner is better then Barzal, but is Dobson to much or to little?

This also helps out the Leafs cap greatly for the final year of Barzal entry level at least.

I like Marner over Barzal, just curious what the add is for the Isles. Is it a prospect or a pick? Barzal fell back in his second year after JT left, so Marner's value is greater right now.

I think most islanders fans are going to say no, but if I were them I'd do it. I'm just not sold on Barzal. Loads of skill, but I just think he's going to be too 1 dimensional. The second he had a coach that actually required him to take a glance in his defensive zone, his point total dropped from 85 to 62, and he couldn't crack 20 goals. Maybe he turns into patrick kane and makes me look stupid, but I just don't see it with him.

I'd rather keep Marner.

Isles overachieved last year and it will show this year.

I would too, but if they can't get Marner signed I would rather trade him for players and not 4 1st round picks that could always be high teens or in the 20's. Barzal and Dobson is likely a stretch and the Leafs can add something as well but they would need to get a young skilled top 6 forward and a young RD

Why is this even an argument??? Barzal and Dobson are untouchables from the Islanders standpoint. I want Marner on the Islanders, but there is no way they move One of those guys for Marner let alone both.

As another poster already said, just OS Marner and give up 4 late (23 to 31/32) first rounders for him. Adding Marner to the team we had last year makes the Isles cup contenders for the next 4 years at least. And the Isles have the prospect pool to not have a first rounder for the next 4 years.

And for those saying Barzal isn’t as good as thought because his point total went down... EVERY Islanders point total went down because they focused on a Defense first system. Now that that system is established and engrained, they can be allowed to play more offensively, which is exactly what they did in the playoffs and take a look at the numbers for Barzal and Eberle then.

That implies they win two playoff rounds. Marner clearly helps accomplish that after the year we just had. It's no dream
