    Devils run to the bank with that, you're giving 2 1sts, Risto and Nylander for a player with 1 year left on his contract in the "hopes" of him re-signing in Buffalo...this is a brutal deal for the Sabres, not to mention their blue line is even worse now

    Stripes meet Ristolainen. Ristolainen meet stripes. Obviously never met. Ristolainen would be the only reason NJ may not make the trade...

    Oh I am very aware of Risto and his terrible decision making. However no matter how much people want to run him out of Buffalo he is better than an injured guy and a rookie playing 2nd pair minutes

    As a devils fan, getting all that for Hall for one year is a hell of a return. #7 overall is worth the price to take Ristolainen

    Hall doesn't play center. Also zero chance Hall is traded before 2019 draft, so the 2019 pick would need to be a 2020 pick.

    The Devils make that trade in a heartbeat. The #7 OA pick. A probable lottery pick next year. A lottery ticket in Nylander. Ristolainen on the 3rd pair defense does a lot less damage.

    If the Sabres were to re-sign Hall. Wow. Five players covering half the cap. And that's before a real contract for Dahlin.
