Every player has very high level comparison in my eyes. Kaliyev? Stafford.. I dont blame them.

I hoped Tampa would draft someone else but their Foote fetish might pay off.

In Nolan's defense: he was tuited as a mid-first round pick in the 2018/19 preseason. And "Foote was playing almost the entirety of this [18/19] season with a broken wrist that he didn’t even realize was broken. Combine that and getting hit with mononucleosis, a brutal sickness, the season prior, and Foote’s ability to strut his stuff to NHL scouts was impeded greatly"
We'll see

I like the pick .. heres why:

1. SIZE .. 6 '4 200 plus lbs .. NO MORE SHRIMPS

2..AGE .. one of oldest draft picks only needs 1 year in minors .. steps in in 2020

3. SCORE.. has great and heavy shot. .. for playoffs so we dont get shut out by Caps in games 6 and 7 anymore

4. CULTURE .. grit and toughness .. for playoffs so we dont get pushed around

Basically we drafted a bigger and higher upside Killorn .. will be 2nd or 3rd liner starting in 2020 when we traded at least 3 of the shrimps by then

TAMPA HAS TO WIN NOW AND HE FITS

I see nothing wrong with it and I bet he has a better 19-20 season.

Kelowna hosts next years MC, he will get that exposure.

He’s a LW to groom and replace one of your current average overpaid LWers in a few years. Heck possibly makes it to your first line.

Definitely not the worst pick from last night. As a Leaf fan, other than laughing with stress that we weren’t in the first round; I wasn’t laughing at this pick.

Yeah still shocked Lavoie is left on that board. I was hoping the penguins would take him.

Brink is little more than a name. His name got hot, passed around and everyone said....oh yeah Brink.... He can't skate. Which is why he didn't get picked first round. Most people don't see him as having a NHL career. But he's got a name, and people will hype him for the next two years as being some great prospect..... Till he fades out. Hard work only gets so far in the NHL. At some level you need to have actual talent.

Foote was a 2nd to 3rd round grade. I have no idea what you are talking about here. He's 18 like every other prospect there. And he will need more than 1 year in the minors to "step in"
There were much better prospects in this draft that were left off the board in front of him. He was a reach.
as far as toughness... he's 6'3 187 lbs. he's a twig. He's not a tough guy player. Which is why you won't see him for some time. He needs to put on at least 30lbs of weight on that frame.

I but their Foote fetish might pay off.

Thanks Sammy for brilliantly analyzing the reason for the selection.

Nolan Foote already 6'4 and around 200 .. will be solid 225 in couple years .. FINALLY a forward with size .. what everyone is not seeing is the FIT with the Bolts .. a gritty wing who can shoot crash the net and score was priority #1 .. were there more "higher potential" guys .. maybe .. but it about fit .. like the Patriots do in NFL .. . his more one dimension game is exactly what Tampa needs .
No more shrimps .. time to kick ass!!!
