Next year - moves with TOR VAN BUF

Created by: justaBoss

Description
Want to see some changes.

I'd let Janmark, Nuke and Honka go. Maybe Comeau and Oleksiak as well for cap reasons.

Johns might be fit to play. He was skating with in the development program with juniors, so maybe he'll make a return. Still gonna keep him at IR though, since I gotta note his cap hit. Hanzal is on LTIR.

As a major move, I want the Stars to sign Panarin. He'd be a terrific asset for us.

Gotta note that there must be around $3,5M left in cap due to bonuses.

Trades
1.
DAL
  1. 2020 2nd round pick (TOR)
TOR
  1. Honka, Julius [RFA Rights]
  2. Janmark, Mattias
Additional Details:
Provided that TOR sheds some cap before the move, they could have use for a decent speedster and a cheap young RHD.
2.
DAL
  1. Boucher, Reid [RFA Rights]
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (VAN)
VAN
  1. Comeau, Blake
  2. Oleksiak, Jamie
Additional Details:
VAN didn't re-sign Hutton, Pouliot or Granlund. Maybe they'd have slots for decent 3rd pair D and bottom-6 forward?
Just guessing here.
3.
DAL
  1. 2020 7th round pick (DAL)
BUF
  1. Nichushkin, Valeri
  2. Nyberg, John
Additional Details:
Nuke needs a fresh start. Maybe there's a slot in BUF? For almost 0 cost, I think they could take a chance with him.

If Johns was healthy; Kadri would look good on the 2nd line with Benn/Roope

If johns is not healthy does a Zaitsev (with $1.5m retained) for honka + AHL C sound good?

If we sign Panarin we can't afford neither. We need to have close to $4M left in cap due to performance bonuses we might have to pay.

Toronto Definitely likes the trade, assuming they trade away Kadri, they might try and push for a 2021 second as they don't have 2020 first right now.

I feel like Duchene would be a better deal than Panarin because he’ll be a few mill cheaper and give the Stars much needed Center depth

It's an option. Just feel like he's going to be overpaid no matter what. If there's a bidding war coming, his salary might go north of $10M which is just too much.

Yeah I agree, I don’t think it’s worth it for the Stars to re-sign Zucc with all the options coming up
