That's confusing, but I think it's pretty even for most teams, except maybe Ottawa, but it's Ottawa, it's not like their good at making 3+ team trades

Ottawa doesn't do this trade lol. Not even close. Marleau cost a 1st to move for 1 year. Im not taking less than a 1st and a B prospect for taking on Johnson and retaining on Rask.

I tried my best to make it as straightforward as possible. But 4 team trades tend to be that way lol.

OTT has to get to the cap floor. It’s just as finite as the cap ceiling. With the Marleau/CAR trade, CAR had plenty of cap space and was still above the floor, so all leverage went to CAR. The same can’t be said for OTT.

Still Johnson has 4 years left and Rask has 3. Theyre not 1 year dumps. Ottawa is gonna have to re-sign half their roster in 2 years

LOL @ Hutton. 3.8 is precisely why Canucks didn't qualify him, he's not worth that much.

Also, a little tip: DO NOT PLAY HIM WITH GUDBRANSON.

I think GMJR learned his lesson from the brassard trade that stuff like this is too big of a headache and not worth it.

Yeah, I don't see this as a starter for Ottawa, too much term on those two contracts and too little return to make it worth while.
