I think i would do the toronto one if you remove the buffalo 4th. The others, obviously not.

I believe all those trades are basically bad for Buffalo and good for the other teams. Not a big fan of Dzingel either.

First trade, Just because Monahan has more goals (119 to 101) and pts (267 to 259) than Jack, while Ristolainen has one more goal and 23 more assists over same period, no one would make that trade. I guess the picks and prospects do not even out the trade at all.
Second trade, Reinhart has 10 more pts over the last 3 years than Drouin, the Sabres move Scandella which allows them to sign Dzingel, and they get Armia, and move up a round in the draft. I sort of thought of this trade as giving up a third to take Scandella and getting Armia, Drouin and 2nd for Reinhart.
Third trade, most people think Girgensons would only return a 6th, but here the Sabres move up from a fourth to a third.
Fourth trade, Reeves is a solid 3rd or 4th line player and the Sabres get 3 picks to take his contract for ONE year. That is an another easy no.
I am repeating myself but the MTL trade allows the Sabres to get a solid 2nd line center.
I will agree that Monahan is not Jack and Drouin is not Sam, but over all getting solid LHD to balance Left and Right, a solid LW, Center and RW over all makes the team more balanced and a bit better. Oh, did I mention, a first, 3 seconds, a third, a fifth and a sixth round pick (seven additional picks as many as any year).


Why because we trade Jack and Sam, when did we make the playoffs with them? I like Jack and Sam, but adding a second center, LHD, left and right wing depth and 4 picks is really hard to pass up. But you are most likely correct.

I think so, as well. It fills their need after trading away Shaw and gives them a solid LHD.

Wow, a third for Girgensons. I guess if Botterill could get Miller for a 2nd he could figure out a way to get a third for Girgensons.
BTW, I can understand not wanting to do the first two trades, they are very risky, but why not the last one. Picking up 3 picks to take Reeves' contract for one year, IMO is a steal.

I dont hate the reaves trade, and depending on our roster we might be looking for a reaves. We have to be getting close to 50 contracts by now, a few late round picks might not be enough without a contract going back.
