THIS TALK OF JETS DEMISE IS EXTREMELY EXAGGERATED

Created by: Ducky10
Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 3, 2019
Published: Jul. 3, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just RFA's and Chiarot signed here. Its likely that one of the high flying wingers will have to go after this season to make room for a Morrisey raise and a few other RFA's (Roslovic, Niku, Appleton).
This D corps will surprise. Young players will all take a step forward. Look for Logan Stanley in the bigs by Xmas! Nelson Nogier and Luke Green are also players to watch.

Agreed. The jets have a strong core and need to get them locked down. The reality of drafting and developing is that one day you'll have to pay these guys or lose them for lesser talent. Appleton, Vesalainen, Roslovic, Poolman and Niku need to make the jump to everyday NHLers who contribute. If/when they do that, the jets will be fine.

I’m surprised it didn’t happen. To me and offersheet with one of these two would make the most sense

There is cap space for a 2 year bridge at 7M...its all ok...but if Laine only wants 5.8M, we will take it...smile

I think players will use OS as a negotiation tactic

Is it though? C'mon. he put up 50 points last year and has so many deficiencies in his game.

They are all using it as a tactic, but the Aho one backfired didnt it. Of all the rfa's Laine is the highest risk because of his regression so I think Point would be the most likely target if another one is made. Besides the Jets have the cap space to match one or two if need be.

He’s a RW they’re very hard to find plus the wing market is ****ed thanks to Skinner

Skinner was UFA, Laine has 4 more years of team control. He was terrible last year outside of November. I based this bridge deal on analysis by Murat Ates of the Athletic. Chevy matches anything unless it goes over 10.5. What exactly did Montreal accomplish with that offer sheet? Did they really think Carolina wouldnt match it?
