No love for Erne? And I can see them dealing Palat after him having to deal with Injury and not producing as much as he should have, but for them to add Cirelli as well I think that’s a bit of a stretch. He’s a key role in that 3rd line C slot. And You can can’t take Paquette and his grit off the 4th line.

I could realistically see the trade being.
BUF: Alexander Nylander and the 2nd round pick.

No he isn't. I think his ceiling is a 60 point guy, but the jury is out. Last year he had 39 points playing for the best regular season team in the NHL for the past 15 years. Giving up that much for a *maybe* 60 point second line center is insane.

Dumb .. where to start ..

1. Cirelli is 21
2. A center
3. PK 1st team
4. Didn't play PP for those 39 rookie pts
5. Didn't play with Kuch Point Stamkos or Hedmen
6. Was on Team Canada .. not juniors
Etc. Etc. Etc.

He could be poor mans Patrice Bergeron as freakin rookie.. great 2 way player

Try at least to play NHL video game b4 posting ..

Okay he is good player but u Tampa fans have to get your heads out of the clouds. He is not that good. He will be good player but he is most likely 60 point second line center in prime. Which is still very valuable and is why I sent big package for him.

But even if he didn’t play with the guys u mentioned he still played with better wingers as a third line center then any third line center in the league. Tampa was the deepest team in the league and with point and stamkos playing the tough minutes he was able to play against worst competition which is why his point total were so high. If he play as the sabres second line center last year and had powerplay time he wouldn’t of scored 40 points. He would of finished with like 20 points.

In his prime I see him as a poor mans kadri not as the best two way center to ever play the game.

I mean there's clearly no bias here from BOLTLOVER1. Listen ****, your points are all valid. I never said he wasn't all of those things you mentioned. But you failed to address my main point, which was that Cirelli is young and untested against difficult competition. Playing well with sheltered minutes against third line competition doesn't prove immense skill or even two way ability. Be all means, he is a great player in that role. It would just be a lot for Buffalo to give up for a player where there exists uncertainty regarding ability at the next level.
