Kucherov is at 9.5M aav. Kane is at 10.5M aav. Both of those wingers have some serious hardware, Marner has nothing. Marner at 12.5M is not the market rate. It's ludicrous.

Agreed which is why is said Marner < 13% cap hit.

Which means Marner is worth less than 13% cap hit, which is $10,595,000 currently with the $81,500,000 cap. Really I think his worth is a little less than 12%. If there’s a team out there that believes he’s 13%+ then they can have him.

Ans everyone is saying Aho's deal is stupidly cheap. If McDavid decieded he didnt want the money and instead signed a 2m contract that doesnt mean what all players of elite level are now only worth 2m. It may deflate their price a little, make him seem like a hero for the team, but it doesnt mea thats the new stadard.

Because at least one of the teams in the league would pay him that... counter away doesnt change that he can get that much.

If he was able to be gotten for Aho money why hasnt it happened. No one would complain at marner for 8.5, people would be loving it just like the aho deal. He wont get 12.5 but he will beat 10.
