Point's better than Marner, why should he take smaller contract with longer term?

If I was a GM, id sign Marner to a 5 year at 13 mill. You just cant teach speed and performing under pressure

So I get you have added an extra year to the Marner deal, but why is Marner getting more than Point? Point is the better all-round player and plays center. I get the whole "need to put an offer that the Leafs can't match", but I can't see a situation where you get Point's rights from Tampa and then expect him to sign for less than Marner.

That Point trade is a joke, Nowhere near enough for Brayden Point. And he's not leaving Tampa for New Jersey. He's going absolutely nowhere.
