Why should Laine take that? He is better than Marner by several miles.

He is way less of a complete player and should prove that he can be a complete player. Anyways, this season yanked his value and he wouldn’t be dumb to bet on himself. He would almost guaranteed make over 11 on his next deal

The way I see it, he could earn 9.5 ish M on his next deal for five years (47.5M total) or 6.8 then about 11.5M (48.1M if you take the bridge and add the first 3 years of 11.5). Heck, he could even bank on there being a large cap increase after his bridge and him getting even 12. I don’t see how he would go wrong with a bridge. He proves he’s more of a complete player while the jets get cap savings during a tough time

make if Vasalainen for Juulsen and sure

Appleton had a good rookie year , So did Hudon
doesnt mean much for long shot players like these until they're 2-3 seasons in showing consistency .

your Finn oversea's developing though , he's someone we'd move Juulsen for
otherwise there is more value in establishing Juulsen , trading Petry and Promoting Brook .

Vesalainen is a future top line winger. No way. Juulsen is good but not that good.

Appleton for juulsen is fair imo. Both teams are deep at those positions and both have similar potential. Juulsen has top 4 upside while appleton has top 6 (more likely middle six though)

I wouldnt say that appleton, juulsen or hudon had good nhl seasons. Hudon definitely not. Juulsen and appleton didn’t get where they would like because of organizational depth blocking the way

Appleton and juulsen are similar age as well.

If we have to add much more we walk away. Don’t need him that bad. The most I would do would be stanley and appleton for juulsen and ikonen (don’t @ me dont know how valuable he is) you can replace ikonen with evans if you like

Actually Juulsen was playing some solid top 4 minutes before getting injured, has nothing to do with organizational depth that he hasn't played more.

By the way look up Hudon's first season, wasn't breaking records by any stretch but was decent enough.

My bad. I though his first season was his last

Appleton is a victim of strong organizational depth on the wings. Even when he was playing he only got 6-7 minutes a game. Not enough for a young player to prove himself. He was very good though when he did play and I could see him even getting 40 pts in an offensive 3rd line

I think that juulsen for appleton is fair.

No problem man, I just don't know if he'd get a better opportunity in MTL tbh.

We have a bunch of bottom 6 players ATM and could get even more crowded if Poehling and/or Suzuki make the team this season.

He has an opportunity on he jets next season but juulsen is more needed by the jets.

What kind of picks would be needed to get him. Maybe green and a 2nd for juulsen and a 6th doesn’t help you though. Maybe Stanley (could make nhl roster) and a 2nd for juulsen and a 4th

What it really depends on is how Bergevin sees the RHD situation moving forward. If he thinks that Brook and Fleury can take over in the coming years then maybe he tries to package him for a top player.

My guess is that Bergevin is just content to let him play out his ELC and see what happens. If someone outplays him then he'll re-evaluate, otherwise he keeps him.

Your offer is fair though and might get him to bite, who knows with Bergevin.

Definitely not paying Laine enough, even for a bridge. But Laine is not even close to Marner. Marner is a better all around player by far
