Will Nylander start in Chi or the Rock

Created by: newman23
Team: 2019-20 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 10, 2019
Published: Jul. 10, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Nylander cracks the line you have to imagine hes playing in the top 6. Hed look great as a set up man for cat/strome on his natural right side or ripping one timer on kanes left wing.

If Nylander starts in Rockford I could see Perlini being resigned and taking his roster spot or potentially sikura/Q/Caggs slotting into that top 9 winger spot

He will have to play with Kane or Toews(or both) to get him kicked into gear...I can see him playing there if he shows what he can do...just look at Strome.

Sabres fan here, Nylander is the most confusing player i have watched. At times looks like he can be great, but most times he lookes like he couldnt give two sh*ts about being out there. Maybe change of scenery will help

I think after what he said he is expecting to be on the big team, he thinks he should already be a full time player. Hopefully some of the players in Chicago can get his attitude in check

DeBrincat - Strome = Deadly, Nylander has too many question marks

Really hoping kane and toews can show him what it means to be a pro. They did well showing cat and strome the ropes, but those guys while equally talented were more naturally motivated than nylander

Really hoping it was a situational thing in rochester rather than an attitude/motivation thing

It is absolutely an attitude/motivation thing... See how many scouts' info has been posted around Blackhawks twitter in the last 24 hours...

I hate this ****ing kid already.

lol.. you mean like Strome had questions marks when he started in Chicago?.. Put those 3 together and I'd bet on magic.

And here's the worst part of it...leaked today that the Blackhawks are now shopping Perlini because they got Nylander....a kid with attitude problems, lack of desire, and puts up .5ppg in the AHL....so excited! shakes head

Not going to lie, this last move has killed my overall desire to have anything to do with the Hawks right now or even be active on this board. **** Stan.

Yeah, this and the Maatta trade then IMO overpaying for Shaw who can't stay healthy since leaving the Hawks, has had multiple concussions and comes with a $3.9M cap hit. I would have been okay with a 2nd but a 2nd and a 3rd?

Eh I'm pretty lukewarm on perlini anyway. Nylander has more baggage but without a doubt has a better toolkit and higher ceiling. Issue is I dont trust bowman to get any kind of value for perlini or anisimov at this point

I think Perlini and Nylander are both close to being a wash...both have skill but neither seems to want to want to put in the work. Perlini being a 12th round pick in 2014 and 23 years old and Nylander a #8th pick in 2016 and 21 years old. Both players have been an absolute bust at this point. Nylander has better hockey IQ then Perlini that's for sure but both are fast and have a good shot.

Thing is we know perlini is inconsistent even with extended looks in the top 9. Pretty much tops out as a third liner on a good team at this point. At least with Nylander theres a hope he can put it together in the right situation. Hes had more limiting factors with injury/being rushed into the A. So while I really hate this trade for now if its either or I'd rather take the gamble on Nylander than Perlini
