Just a question, does Vegas not need prospects? Trading away another 1st round might not be good for future when they need to fill spots with prospects because of future Cap situations.

This is probably the very last thing the Canes would do.

Signing Smith-Pelley makes sense only if you've traded Reaves first.

Gauthier for Holden seems about right.

Carolina isn't breaking up that defense further (after moving De Haan).

I mean, they do, but when the West is as weak as it is AND Vegas still maintains the quantity of picks it has over the next two years (especially considering 2020 is a deep draft), the option to go for it and really cement pro sports in Las Vegas is entirely worthwhile. Cody Glass is only 20, and the majority of the core is locked up into 2023 with this setup. There isn't a huge need for prospects yet, and after this slowing how many assets move out makes sense.

DSP was a fill-in #4RW option. Literally put a live body there for under $1M and they'd do fine.

Curious as to why you don't like the Carolina trade.

Fair, just an idea that popped into my head.

I can't see McPhee trading Reaves despite how much of a burden he is on the team's cap situation: the guy brings something tangible to that locker room, and I genuinely believe it would upset the team if he was gone.

Put that idea right back in your head. Now, if you’re interested in picks and prospects for Goose...lets talk

Any team can offer picks and or prospects minus like, the Sharks.

The only reason this idea came to be was due to a response I had to the Oilers adding Gusev for picks and prospects: Vegas supposedly wants a RD in return, and the Hurricanes have them in spades. Should have tried for Faulk in hindsight?

Fine. Then you don't need DSP and should spend that money on the RD.

Why does everyone keep putting VGK's #1 dman (Schmidt) on the 2nd pair like he's a #4?...

Anyway, no more big contracts, please.

I mean, having Hamilton (or Faulk) plus Schmidt as a top 4 for RD options gives any team leeway to be a bit stingy on the 3rd pair. Engelland with sheltered minutes is safe at the least.

Had more to do with Schmidt being a stronger option to pair with McNabb than Hamilton would be *shrugs*
