Which teams would be interested in Eric comrie

Created by: arafay
Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 25, 2019
Published: Jul. 25, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
He is ready for a backup role now but the jets should trade him because he requires waivers and he would definitely be claimed. Looking for a similar prospect back or a 3rd rounder

He has starter potential and just turned 24. He was once the jets’ up and coming goaltender but isn’t getting a chance with the jets since our goalie tandem is set

Why oilers. They have smith and have prospects waiting in the wings. Same for the flames. Canes have nedjovic (butchered that). CBj has korpisalo and merzeklins (butchered that one too)

I was thinking Vegas but they got sparks now. Maybe COL. would provide francouz some competition

Even with the Sparks trade the Leafs have eight goalies in camp...What's one more?

Probably not the Oilers, they already have way too many goalie prospects, and they're committed to Smith, and Koskinen in the NHL. I could see Columbus being very interested though

But they only have one possible backup guy in kaskisou. Even he isn’t nhl material imo. They are getting neuvirth tho so I dont think it’s a match

Fla isn’t bad I guess. He would fill in the gap until knight is ready or maybe even steal the job from bob in a couple of years

Maybe Tampa?

Smith is bad and on a 1 year deal, Koskinen is bad, prospects are always a gamble. Create competition at camp, maybe they get lucky and waive Koskinen and the flames take him off there hands seems to be the flames gig lately is taking bad contracts from EDM

Smith isn’t bad. He is just old. In a 40 game season he would be great imo. I would try to move koskinen for Allen. Struggling goalie for struggling goalie.. comrie doesn’t seem to be a fit but I would send him to anyone.

How about perreault and comrie for puljujarvi and brodziak

Wild, blue jackets, Bruins, knights, kings, coyotes. This would be front runners in my opinion. All teams with old goalies no true number one in the system.

Columbus for sure would be interested. Even with Merzlinkins and Korpisalo and the fin, who’s name I can’t remember they’ll have an inexperienced goalie. What’s adding one who’s been in NA how whole life.

Wild fans say they done want him (he is a fit though)
Jackets have korpisalo and merzeklins (or something) with the latter having starter potential
Bruins have a tandem and don’t need any goalies
Knights would be interesting since they have subban and sparks but comrie is going to be better than both long-term but isn’t right now since he doesn’t have the same experience (don’t want to help them either)
Kings have Campbell and quick now and one more prospect (can’t remember his name) waiting in the wings
Coyotes have raanta and kuemper

What would you offer for him. A prospect or a 3rd. If a prospect which one?
Also if he doesn’t make the team you lose him for free on waivers

Probably a mid prospect like Bittner or someone like that. Maybe a 4th, but Columbus has the luxury or having Merzlinkins on a 2 way contract because he hasn’t played a game in NA. So Comrie and Korpisalo would start the year and which even one takes the job stays, the other is off to Edmonton or Vancouver or Minnesota or Toronto.

As Arafy suggested, unless Comrie makes the NHL he is on waivers. So his return might not be much. Is he a lock to be NHLer this season?

He is nhl ready. He might get off to a rough start the first game or two, but like in the one game he did play for the jets this year, he will be really good once he settles in

I would want a 3rd or a similar prospect back

That’s too little return for me. I would want a 3rd or a similar prospect back

Bittner was picked in the 2nd or 3rd round. If he’s not enough it’s too much for him.

What is his ceiling. Not as high as comrie right? I said similar prospect for a reason. A 1 for 1 for honka would be equal or close to equal in value imo but Dallas doesn’t want/need a goalie

What is your scouting report on bittner and is he nhl ready. I would rather have someone nhl ready but am not too picky especially if it means getting more potential

Bittner at his best would be a Kreider type player. Idk if he’s NHL ready. Also you aren’t going to get someone who’s close to NHL ready for Comrie, who hasn’t played in an NHL game yet and wasn’t able to beat out Brossiot, who’s on his 3rd team btw, as a back up last year. You can wish for it, but every team knows that he goes on waivers this year and they can claim him for free, so why trade too much for him.

Do you see brossiot’s stats from last year. Hard to beat a guy playing better than the starter, especially with under 5 games of experience. He now has 5 games under his belt btw.
So bittner has top 6 potential or is if a stylistic comparison.

I’m not saying we will get a lot but I would rather have a 3rd rounder than a return like that. That is if you are willing to give a 3rd rounder. However all indication is that the jets will (try to) keep comrie cause they haven’t signed another goalie, I think they bet that no one has room on there nhl roster for him and they pick him off waivers again to reassign him to the ahl
