Petry is worth a 1st + A prospect or 1st + 2 B prospects

I think that the demand for RHDs is pretty high so I would go out and guess two 2nds and a B Prospect.

I think this is pretty close. Maybe a swap for a decent lhd would work too. But certainly not with Vegas.

I think he'll be traded at the draft for a pick between 12 and 17th

Muzzin got traded for a 1st + Grundstrom ( B prospect ) + Durzi ( B prospect ). Petry have the same value of Muzzin, if it's not a little more

True. I guess that he could be traded for a package similar to that. The more that I think about it the more that I notice how similar their cost should be.

do it, because one guy *ucked up the market, everyone will do it; massive yikes if you think that

A certain Kevin Labanc got $1M....

But those two aren't comparable

As a Bruins fan, I'm happy because one day you'll regret that contract tears of joy cool

you dont seem to know much about hockey... the cap gets higher, the salary gets higher. Why do you think Panarin got 11?, why marner will get 10-11? if domi puts up another 70-80pts season he will have 8m

Let's not get excited about Domi for a minute... He had one great season that followed a really underwhelming couple of campaigns in ARI. I think he'll get a bridge deal of around 3-4 years at a fair AAV, it'd be a smart move to sign him early at a discount and not repeat the Radulov mistake.

For Petry I think he has a really high value right now knowing that the common rate for a Top4 dman will soon be around 8M$ (See Barrie and Trouba contract/demands for reference). I'll keep pounding that with retained salary -and maybe even without- (To make it a great bargain for another team) we could land -at least- an A-prostect with a second. For a trade with VGK I could see MTL retaining 30-50% of his salary for Nic Hague+2nd round 2020 and maybe add Xavier Bouchard or Lucas Elvenes while at it. Vegas would get two run at the cup with Petry at 2.75-3.25M$ and Montreal gets Hague that's projected by some to be a stud defenseman plus an extra assets for the draft in Montreal in what should be a deep draft.
