Rebuilding on the Fly

Description
Now that Fenton is history, I'm going to look at a start to undoing the damage from the last two GM's by taking one player from each team that I think I know something about, and see what everyone says. I'm also going to try to suggest ways to get rid of some of the dead wood, too. Don't pay too much attention to exact trade values -- assume that they can be balanced with a draft pick.

1.
MIN
  1. Sherwood, Kiefer
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (ANA)
ANA
  1. Zucker, Jason
Additional Details:
To justify/absorb the acquisitions of Kevin Fiala and Ryan Hartman and the development of Jordan Greenway, Zucker has to go. Anaheim has a slight softness on that side and extra strength on the other wing.
2.
MIN
  1. Walker, Sean
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
The 2nd round pick becomes a first-round pick if Spurgeon re-signs with Los Angeles.
LAK
  1. Spurgeon, Jared
Additional Details:
Spurgeon is in the last year of his contract. Walker is ready to play right now.
3.
MIN
  1. Dal Colle, Michael [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
The Islanders have extra depth on LW. Dal Colle may yet pan out.
NYI
  1. Johansson, Filip [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
I’m not impressed with New York’s LD prospects. Johansson is a former first-round pick.
4.
MIN
  1. 2020 4th round pick (BUF)
BUF
  1. Rask, Victor
  2. 2020 6th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
There is some concern among Sabres fans that Casey Mittelstadt shouldn’t be forced into the #2C slot this year. This is a low-risk move to provide some protection for him.

According to @TanSor, Fenton wanted to rebuild but the owner wants a contender hence the firing. So rebuilding is the direction, why fire Fenton?

The next GM of the Wild will be an interesting hire to say the least.

Heard they're interested in Hextall as their next GM possibly.

I've read that there thinking of hiring Hextall, that would be a great hire for them.

Yeah I @TanSor likes that hire too but my question still stands: if rebuilding is the direction why fire Fenton?
I don't know if I'm out to lunch with suggesting that the owner wants a GM who can make moves to make the Wild into a contender now...but isn't that why Fenton was fired?

From what I read (the score) Leopold fired Fenton because there was a lot of internal complaints about the way he ran things. Leopold said that the hiring of Fenton was a mistake that he was taking responsibility for, he said that Fenton was a good scout but couldn't handle the rest of the gm responsibilities. FWIW, I don't think he's telling the whole truth but...of course, he's not going to. If the Wild higher Hextall I think he will try to rebuild also. I don't think you're out to lunch on that, but what other choice do they have but to try and move out some bad contracts/ undo some of Fenton's mistakes. They have some good pieces and can contend...but they need to hire someone who's competent first.

This is true, Fenton was tough to work for in the office.
Not only that, his son was named "Co-director" of Am Scouting after being a regional Am Scout for only 2 years. He walked around like he was "King ****". Just rubbed too many people wrong.
