The Oil are going to match any RFA offer that gives them anything less than what looks to be a good 2nd round pick on Pulju imo.

At that price, he is worth keeping around. Further, if he signed that, he would do so knowing that the Oil can match and he will be obligated to play or else break his contract which would completely ruin his reputation in the NHL.

If you want Pulju, I think Holland will only be looking at a trade for another young unknown forward with huge upside. Otherwise Holland has said he will wait it out. At this price, the waiting would be over, and Pulju signed by the Oil.

He has no leverage and it's a bridge deal. If anything 5.75M is probably high, if he wants 7+ he'll have to give up a UFA year.

Yeah, I know he has no " leverage " because he's a 10.2c RFA and can't sign offer sheet but his leverage is time.... Both sides know how he is important so there's nothing urgent for him. McAvoy said that he wants to stay but you gotta pay the man. Give him less just because Backes is overpaid or whatever cap problems is stupid lol

You gotta pay him if you're buying out UFA years. The whole point of a bridge deal is that it's under UFA market value so that he can get paid then.

He should threaten to play baseball instead, get a nice contract from Red Sox, that'll really give him leverage.

So weird that PK Subban signed a 2 X 2.75 Bridge.

Here is the deal, He has no real leverage. That kid is not going to play in Europe/KHL. Did you see him at the end of the season?
If he sits out he is in the exact same position next year. He does not accrue any time.
I am guessing he wants a long term deal @8m+
I am guessing the Bruins want a bridge for a couple reasons.
- their current cap space
- If he signs a two year bridge - Backes, Krejci and Rask are off the books - more money to send his way.
- Has hasn't played more than 63 regular season games.
- They already burned a year of his contract, so they have shown some good faith.

sitting out the yr will only make his value go down. He has no leverage period.

They’re obvi gonna come to an agreement before the season, but it wont be big money on a bridge. imo hes gonna sign a 3.5x2

They can't just "lose" him.

If you mean for the year, I don't agree with you about that being his leverage. Doesn't he want a Cup? Certainly looked like he did. They could make a deal and bring in either a long term replacement or Short term.
I am guessing a hold out that comes close to dec 1 = gone. His return would be pretty darn high.
Brandon Carlo is very, very good.
