Canes top line Svech-Aho-Dzingel

Created by: DarthCane
Team: 2019-20 Carolina Hurricanes

Description
There are multiple scenarios for Carolina's top scoring line this year. In all of them, Aho is the center, of course. But I think that there are a number of interesting options for who to put on his wing.

Option 1: The easy choice is to put him back with Turbo and Nino.
Option 2: Keep Nino but bump Turbo to second scoring line in order to create matchup problems for other teams and scoring depth in the top 6. Moving Turbo (as opposed to Nino) makes the most sense because he's a playmaker. In this scenario, Svech makes the most sense given the way he played to end the season and in playoffs.
Option 3: If not Svech, Dzingel could be another option to move up with Aho. Dzingel is a goal scorer, although is more of a defensively weak winger.
Option 4: A dark horse candidate here would be Necas, who plays with speed and would best be served on a scoring line. (not the 4th line).
Option 5: Justin Williams re-signs and goes back to the top.

So top line could likely feature Aho with two of: Turbo, Nino, Svech, Dzingel, Necas, Williams.

I actually think it will be Nino-Aho-Svech, but these are all intriguing.
One note: If Williams re-signs, Necas returns to Charlotte. Don't love Necas with Staal, but not sure where else to put him - and don't want him on the 4th line.

Haula will be the 3C waddrl has said this. He was brought in to upgrade the centre core. If you don't like Staal with Necas keep Necas on the 3rd line and swap them, Staal is an ideal 2C, if Williams comes back slot him in where Martinook is bump Martinook to the 4C spot and take Wallmark out of the line up. It makes the top 9 look much more menacing and give the bottom line internal competition for places.

Dzingle isnt a top line player, he will likely alternate between the 2nd and 3rd line. He can play top line minutes if there is an injury but I would be counting on him taking Teuvos place

I would personally like to see nino-aho-dzingel svech-staal-teuvo foegele-haula-necas mcginn-wallmark-martinook. Based on what I've seen, Dzingel and Nino are pretty invisible if they don't have an elite center whereas svech and teuvo have proven that they can produce offensively without aho. Staal and Haula are interchangeable in the lineup I created.

I've been wondering this. And I think we get caught up in 2nd line versus 3rd line. What is tell is who gets the ice time. I still think you want Staal to be the shut down line and would be preferable that he's with guys who have some offensive upside but who are defensively responsible. Wallmark is a better center than Martinook IMHO. He plays a steady 2-way game and could take another step forward this season. Love him at the 4C with the ability to move up (remember he took on Staal's minutes last season) if there are injuries.

I would love to see Foegele-Haula-Necas at some point. Or Foegele-Haula-Dzingel.

With other D who have to go through waivers to return to Charlotte (Fleury, Forsling likely, McKeown), I think Bean will start the year in Charlotte. Gets him another year of heavy minutes and development, but can be called up if needed.

Yeah, I think you're right. But I like the idea of separating TT and Aho in order to build two scoring lines and create match up problems. Dzingel with Turbo on a line centered by either Haula or Staal could be really effective as well.
