What do you think the Sabres get out of this trade?
The Sabre's cap goes up by about $1,000,000, so now the Sabres are in a cap crunch after this trade.
I see two third line forwards.
Copp played 38 fewer games and has 5 more pts Larsson. But Larsson starts in the defensive zone about 22% of the time the last 2 seasons (Copp starts in the DZ over 47% in the last 2 seasons) so he has to get puck out of the zone before he can get a chance to score.
The Jets are shopping Perreault and he seems to have a value of no better than a 2nd (most likely a third).
I see the best case that this trade is a 2nd, 3rd and 4th for Ristolainen.
IMO Ristolainen has more value as our 3rd pairing defenseman than a couple of bottom 6 forwards and a late 2nd.
