You're talking like there's a chance he'll be good.... Ceci is better being bought out than he is actually playing. Faulk is good on his skates, good defensively and known for his offence. He's a solidified top 4 RD man. Perfect for your second pair. I'm not going to continue this debate regarding Faulk. Just know that Ceci is a HORRIFIC player, you'll envy the days of Matt Hunwick

You seem to be missing the part where I am saying, i don't see Ceci in the top 4. Dermott will be with Rielly and Muzzin with Barrie. I am not sure what you are missing here.

System? The system was put in place because of the blue line. Slavin Hamilton Pesce Faulk De Haan Van Reimsdyk was one of the best bluelines in hockey last year with De Haan moving to open a space for Fleury. The D core drives the system, this isn't New York with the islanders where 6 no ones turned into great D men. There were 6 great D men here, and each did a fantastic job. I agree Faulk's strengths are similar to Gardiners, but Faulk is a very low risk high reward acquirement. If he doesn't work let him walk and you still have your 1st rounder, if he's an absolute fire, you can move him elsewhere. It is VERY low risk and VERY high reward for Toronto I think

I don't want Faulk.

Campbell can probably be had for a 2nd round pick. A 3rd isn't enough. You could substitute a B+ prospect in lieu of the pick, as long as said prospect is expansion draft exempt (Mattheos?) .

Petersen is the goaltender of the future for LA. He is not going anywhere.

It's pretty much a pointless trade for the Avs. They're likely to run with Francouz. If they went for a third goalie you'd have to imagine they'd be looking at someone in the 22/3/4 age bracket at oldest, who has potential.

And teams are just willing to cough that up right?

Let's agree to disagree. Faulk is a huge upgrade to the Toronto d core and especially over Cody Ceci, that was the logic for the deal, Thank you for the feedback

Yes Faulk is an upgrade over Ceci. Although how much of an improvement is not as easy to tell as one would think. Ceci played for the worst team and was asked to do too much. Also Boucher is a bad coach and that also could have hurt his development. A change of scenery could do him well, either way I don't see Ceci as anything more than a bottom pair guy and potentially less than that. A top for of Rielly, Muzzin, Barrie and Dermott is very good and with potential coming from Sandin and Liljegren (both I see as being future mainstays on the blueline) The Leafs weakness is massively overly hyped on here.

doesn't make sense for the Kings to do that trade. If Campbell has another good year, they should be able to get more.

It doesn't matter if teams are 'just willing to cough that up'. That's what Colorado would target and that's the kind of trade they would look to make to fit their team need. Tough that you can't take it that your trade offer wouldn't interest them!

Tough that you can't see that what you'd be looking for there isn't a market in!!! Reimer has 2 years left and is a proven backup, Colorado have a shed load of cap space, there's at least some interest I can 100% tell you that. This would ONLY be if Francouz flames out, and they need a backup ASAP

If Francouz flamed out that would be a different story. However, source for the interest? There is always a market. All dependent on coming to terms on the trade. To say there is no market is ridiculous. Even Gretzky got traded!

In one of the worst trades ever. No one is going to give up a young goalie with potential, there is no such thing as an extra young goalie prospect. No one is gonna cough them up, there's no one selling them that's the issue

Whether one of the worst trades ever (and I think the two Forsberg trades are the worst I've ever seen, for Philadelphia & Washington) or not, it still proves that nobody is untradeable. There are plenty of teams with two or three goalies in the 22-25 age bracket. Value in the trade is the only issue. To say nobody is going to be willing to trade one is rubbish.

Source for the interest yet?

If you can find anyone willing to trade you an NHL proven goalie aged 22-25, with great potential, I will eat my Aho jersey.
