Link to the article? I can't seem to find anything saying Rangers are interested in Hutton and it means Hajek or Rykov have no chance of making the team. Doesn't make sense... however this is the Rangers where trading for Adam McQuaid, letting Claesson go and buying out Shatty over Smith or Staal, so anything is possible.

It was a tweet from Dennis Bernstein saying LA were in the mix with Detroit,Minny and NYR other possible landing spots. Figured I’d play it out on here see what it looked like. And yes curious decisions in the past so guess we will see. I would’ve brought back Claesson or go for a vet under 30 for 1 mill at most. Send smith to Hartford

I definitely agree with you on Claesson, maybe we end up signing him after a trade... one can dream right. There is contracts coming off the books next year (16 million in cap space) and the following year (18 million) but signing anyone other than ADA and Lemieux to a contract over a year is a bad idea as once ELC's end the kids are going to need to get paid if producing.

Both teams decline. Drop the prospect or a 3rd in the Kreider trade

You aren’t getting Dahlen for strome. You would get a 3rd at best.

Do have the 16 in space next year but have to take 4.5 off that for shattenkirks buyout. Probably burned bridges with Claesson after not qualifying him but seems like he only gets a pto from someone at this point. Kids have to produce to get rewarded and Rangers are good at locking up bridge deals. Doubt Howden and Andersson get more then a bridge. Kakko, chytil and Kravtsov best chance for a longer term deal

Full year of Kreider for a team who should win the cup I’d say they could handle that deal. Strome deal may be a stretch but they need a right handed forward

Shatty’s cap hit next season is a bit over 6 million so more like 9.8 million in space. Have to resign Georgiev and then it depends on if Strome, Fast or Kreider are coming back. Don’t see anyway we can afford Kreider so there will be some money but foolish to spend and go into another season up against the cap.

Am I crazy thinking that if he’s signing this late he’s getting $2M or less?

Definitely try a different prospect from SJ. They would rather give a 3rd than dahlen and a 5th

I don’t see nsh giving that much. I think you are overdoing it with the prospect. Other than that you’re good

Kevin Hayes is about equal in value to Kreider imo. Lemieux=3rd. 1st=1st. Don’t see why there is a prospect in that as well.

You are not getting dahlen. Thats all I’m saying. Try a different prospect. His numbers are deceiving. He is an A prospect

NSH says yes in a heart beat. a 1st and a mid prospect is fair value. rangers can probably squeeze out a little more in a kreider trade!

your debating over a ****tie prospect and/or a 3rd rounder? c'mon brother! if thats all the rangers were asking for Kreider he would have been traded already.

Serious question, why even trade strome? he is a solid all around player and the team owns his RFA rights next season. doesn't make sense to trade him for me.

Making 3.1 this year and his qualifying offer will have to be a decent size to retain him. They want to give the young guys a chance at center like chytil and Andersson. Don’t see making him the 4C. If Kravtsov makes the team the right wing has him, buch, Kakko and Fast. Teams like San Jose and minny could use a right handed forward who could move to center if needed. I do like him and would have no problem keeping him but would move him for the right return

Full year of a possible 30 goal scorer seems worth it to me. Prospect in Nashville was a 2nd rounder so could move the first to the devils 2nd and would be 2nd, 2nd and third. Dahlen is tough to figure out, been traded twice already. I’d be ok with just a third or I had used Bergman in other deals I proposed with San Jose

Hayes got Lemieux and a 1st which was considered an overpayment (which are made only at the tdl not before season). What makes you think Kreider will get more. A 1st and a 3rd would be it at the start of the season for a rental.

Also I’m not the one arguing over it. Just reaponding. Just made a 2 sentence reply. Take the 3rd or the prospect out. And you aren’t getting dahlen for strome and should try a different prospect. Ur the one who started arguing to that

Hayes was about equal value and the package he got was considered an overpayment. At the start of the season expecting both the 3rd and the prospect is too much.

Dahlen got traded out of OTT since they were beefing up for the playoffs (terrible trade) no other reasons involved
Dahlen wanted out of VAN since he was unhappy with his role on the nucks farm team (3rd/4th liner which is no place for a skilled player)
