MacArthur is on LTIR so Sens won't have to pay most of his salary?

You can't have 4 players on LTIR, I believe the max is 2

Yeah they’ll only have to pay 20% of it but they rather pay 20% and reach the cap floor then have to pay someone the full contract

LTIR contracts are paid mostly by insurance, plus you'd be so far over the off-season cap off like 90 mil, and ltir contracts cost like a fifth or fourth at most to dump, not a third, especially for one like eaves that isn't much and is only for 1 year

Sens aren't giving an asset to move that deal. LTIR contracts are valuable assets to both teams. Toronto because it gives them more functional cap room and a bit more breathing room, and Ottawa because they're a cash poor team and LTIR contracts get mostly paid through insurance.

Ottawa would rather pay Clarke 400k or whatever on LTIR, than have to find another 4.5 million to get to the floor and actually have to spend 4 million dollars.

Ltir contracts do nothing for the leafs. They balance out to zero. Why this person is trying to take on two more other than trying to pick up some 3rd’s is beyond me. To be ho eat it is easier to navigate without ltir especially if you have performance bonuses to pay.
