Probably Laine based on pedigree. Could just as easily be wrong though.

Depends on who shows up next season.. Last year would say Debrincat but the year prior was Laine. Would think based on salary would go with Debrincat as he has one more year at under 1million. Jets would be saving next season many millions.

Although he thought of Kane feeding Laine is tantalizing, I would think Winnipeg wouldn't take this deal.

wpg hangs up the phone.
Debrincat is a pretty solid regular season guy. But I'm sorry, come the playoffs, all 5'5 160lbs of him will get crushed when teams will rip your head off trying to win. The playoffs is just a different game. Most people know that. Cat will get run, and physically taken out the game.

DeBrincat only knows he is short because everyone tells him so, he was one of the more “Feisty” forwards on the hawks last season. Not saying he is a fighter, but he knows how to stand his ground and I can wait to see what he does n the playoffs this year.

Yup, till the other team decides to neutralize your 160lb five foot nothing player. They fighting for that puck out there, figuratively and literally.

Being a Blackhawk fan, I have seen more of DeBrincat. I would say he is better defensively. Laine has the misfortune of playing on a very deep team (offensively). Was he not on the third line at some point last year? What team would consider that? And why?

I have said this before. Winnipeg can not afford to sign both Conner and Laine (market value with a long term) Winnipeg could keep both if both players agree to bridge deals? Laine already has the reputation as a sniper (game-changer) and could fetch assets which would benefit the Jets now and in the future.
