As for Ferris's “tactics" we can't say whether they work or not until a contract is signed. And people's ACGMs have absolutely nothing to do with what goes on in reality, so who cares what people do? Also can't go 9 years 8 is the max term.

Oops the 9 was a typo. There is literally no inside info anywhere certainly none from me. If marner signs for under 10m on an 8 year deal I would be shocked. That’s where his value seemed to be before all the theatrics. From a standpoint of very little leverage they did what they could to push his number up.

No worries I have plenty of typos myself. I think we would all be pleasantly shocked if he signed 8 years especially under 10... But what's the point in living if we can't dream right. My bad I misunderstood. You are absolutely right sir! He Ferris has done a great job to this point at using every bit of leverage he possibly can to extract more money from the leafs. FWIW, IMO, I think Marner gets a contract or at least AAV closer to what he wants oppose to what the leafs want.
