The trade is fine, but the habs already have 3 goalies in the AHL.

Condon can be scratches in the AHL like Dale Weise because they can't dress more than 5 vets I think ( Ouellet Alzner Belzile Varone Barber )

Lol no way Domingue ends up on waivers. He's a decent backup and there are multiple team that are missing one

Also, If they agree to pay Point the same amount of Kuch (hint: they won't), there's no way they'll agree on 7 years instead of 8

Domingue is garbage, why do you think they signed McElhinney ? 2.88 GAA with a stack team in front of him. I can't see a team trading a 5th or 6th round pick for him

It’s 7 vets, which isn’t a problem for Laval. Most likely though, if this happened Condon would be sent to the ECHL. So it would probably be better to trade Condon to another team. Also Barber doesn’t count as a veteran.

Tampas game is more wide open than most .. they are not a shutdown D team like Islanders Caps etc.. as those goalies face very little true scoring chances .. hence why Islanders didn't resign Goalie .. domingue is better than most #2s and a few #1s .. do a save % analysis on scoring changes rather than total shots.. tells different story for a number of goalies

They signed McElhinney because Domingue has played well enough to get interest from many teams as a possible #1 or being part of a 1a and 1b type system. Bolts know after this year he would go pure UFA to try and be a #1, so they signed McElhinney to ensure we have a solid back up for the next two seasons, not just one.
