People who know more than you think differently.

People who watch him play and look at his stats think differently. All he can do is skate. "B-b-b-but he was so good at Hlinka"

I like your list. One name I like that isn't here is Jesper Boqvist. He put up big numbers (esp 5v5) last year with pretty weak teammates

It was very tough not putting him on here. But I cut each position off at 10 lol. He is my #12 ranked C

Seems like creating a list of prospects the way you see them is a great way to start a **** storm lol.

That's just not true. Anybody less than 24 years of age with <25 NHL games is still a prospect IMO. Hughes fits that criteria, thus he is still a prospect.

Huges is going to have a full time role with THIS year. Period. To say he's still a "prospect" is nuts.
He was a prospect last year before he was drafted. He would have remained one if he wasn't already penciled in as a top 6 role on NJ. Or Kyrou who got a legit shot at playing at the NHL last year and couldn't stick.
Once you get your shot at the NHL level you simply aren't a prospect anymore. You are a pro player.
We all know Hughes is slated to get his shot, to call him a prospect at this point is just stupid. He's an NHL player, no one should look at him any differently at this point.

That's nonsense and you know it. It's also completely disrespectful. We all know he's a starting top 6 player for NJ this year. Even if it is his 1st year.
He's earned the right to be called an NHL player.
You on the other hand would like to take that away from him while you sit on the sofa eating bon bons.

Right so six months ago he wasn't considered a prospect either? Should I have called him an NHL player then? He was guaranteed NHL minutes back then too.

He wasn't drafted or on an NHL team then. There is a substantial difference.

Stop trying to ignorantly say he's not an NHL player. He is. Get over it.
Just like McDavid wasn't a prospect his first year, or Matthews wasn't a prospect their first year. They were on the ice playing.
Prospects are people not playing in NHL games. Period.
Even though Hughes hasn't played his first game yet, we all know that's because the season hasn't started yet. But you are kidding yourself if you don't think he's on a 23 man roster, and going to be there for puck drop. So get over it.
It's not the same thing as Caufield who is going to NCAA and play and isn't on a team roster. There are substantial differences.
Prospects are players team depend on for future seasons and haven't been given an NHL chance.
None of that describes Hughes. He is expected and will play this year, at the start of the season. That's not a "prospect" that's an NHL player.

You have completely lost the argument and then just spew out nonsense.
Like it matters now from a few weeks from now. Like when the puck drops on game 1 he's now not a prospect. What absurdity.
He's an NHL player now. Period. He will be handed a top 6 role. He will be skating on opening day.
That's not a prospect.
He's an NHL rookie now. Those are the best words to describe him. Period.
That is not the same as a prospect.

he's a prospect until he plays enough games to be considered graduated. if he plays five games and gets injured and doesn't play a game again until next season, he's still a prospect.

goaltenders arent fun to rank. very difficult, not worth my time

Lol okay sticking to the easy path I see. That's not alot of fun imo. Easily UPL is the best, Washington's Russian boy is 2nd, Oliver Rodrigue etc. It's not hard just do some research

Definitely no bias there. UPL isn't the best goalie prospect. Samsonov, Shestyorkin, Sorokin are all better. Konovalov is also up there.

you just keep rambling with no logical thought process. I don't know how you get through life that way, but it must be a struggle.
NHL rookies aren't prospects. That's why they are called rookies.
